I recently bought the update for my prius from the dealership. They had a special, only $199. Well, needless to say, I want to take a sledge hammer to it. Everytime I try to enter an address, it tells me the street number does not exist for that address. But I can manually find the location on the map, and, OMG, it does exist. The software just doesn't work properly. Has anyone had this problem and if so, how did you fix it? Bonnie
$199 is not a bad price if the disc says v9.1, my dealership is selling them for that price as well, but if you paid $199 for a disc that says v7.1 you got ripped off.
Make sure you have the correct region selected. With the new DVD it defalts to a region that may be different from where you live. That should solve the problem.
Try to select the city 1st then key in the address. By keying in the city first, it narrows the road choices to those only in that city. For example. there are a lot of ways to key in North East Main Street. Such as NE Main, N East Main ST. You get the point. This should save time and get you to the right spot
Be sure that you select the correct area. Go to map DVD button and select region. You can't always tell when the map is on your region. I went on a road trip which went through 3 different regions and I did not notice any difference except when I tried to enter an address! It can be frustrating, but knowing what makes the navigation system work will help figure out most problems.
I had an odd occurrence with the Navi on my G3 III the other night coming home. Mind you, I use my Navi quite often, mostly to get me in/out of areas that I'm not familiar with. However, as I got closer to home both me and my friend that was in the car, noticed that the icon for the local Rte 7 had the image of florida with it, as in it was FL Rte 7. This had never happened before, so it was kind of interesting. I haven't had to use the GPS since that time, but will be on the lookout to see if it does that again. Ironically, I nailed the daylights out of a pot-hole about 2 days before this occurred. I wouldn't think that would cause that odd issue to occur, but who knows. And I couldn't avoid the pothole, because the car in front of me felt a need to come to a stop in the middle of the freeway to try to take the exit that they clearly had a sign for 1/2 mile before. This caused me to lay into the brake pedal, and ended up hitting the pothole I couldn't see in time because of the other car. Anyone else have the sign that pops up for a road, show the state image of a totally different state?
