3 Words to Describe the Prius PHV Test Drive: "I Want One"

Well, over at cleanmpg.com Wayne Gerdes reported seeing a slide from $28,000 to $32,000 and suggested the price could be pushed as low as $26k to $27k for a base package. But I wouldn't necessrily expect a "base" PHEV to be available.

As well as the small gas saving I like the idea of the PHEV preheating the car (engine and cabin) using mains electricity instead of having to turn the engine on. (I try to avoid pre-heating by my wife physically can't stand the cold so it would be of some benefit) If a short-range PHEV like the Prius didn't come with an EBH as standard I'd be pretty disappointed.

Any word on the drive event in Columbus OH. Is it open to the public?

 

The latest information of PHV Prius conflicts with your understanding. Tank 1 never get empty and you don't refill it. Therefore, the usable capacity is 6 gallons.
