Hey there fellow Prius-Chatters! I recently got my 2010 tinted from a local guy who has been doing it for over 25 years. I am very pleased with the work. If you have any questions be sure to ask me! I'll answer them as soon as I can. Here are some pictures: --- --- --- Comments are welcome. :welcome:
The nice thing about 18-20% is that it looks pitch dark when there is shade or no sun, but is still seeable when there's light. Looks good on the white car. If I didn't get silver, I'd have gotten white. Did you decide not to get the windshield banner ?
I have to agree with you totally on your comment. I went against the windshield banner, I personally don't think they look very good. That's just my 2 cents though. Thanks for the comment!
@Greg- I herd that site was a very good way to get tint information and find a great Tinter in your area. I herd of my tinter (Gary) from word of mouth. He takes about 5 hours per vehicle, takes off the door pannels to properly tint below the window and such. I couldn't be happier. @Wix- Check your private messages. @ajc- That also looks like a nice percentage, rock on!! Thanks for sharing.
Your GIII looks great, congrats. I had a similar tint job done to my Blizzard Pearl GIII at a local shop and loving it. Judging from the photos it looks like you tinted the lower rear window too? How do you like the difference in look and outward visibility? I did not tint that window and am not sure I like or dislike the results. I guess I'm living with it for now. The next step is how dark to tint the windshield.....
I sure did get the lower rear window tinted. I didn't think it would look right to keep it at the stock tint percentage. It is different, certainly. It's dark, but not TOO dark. I think it is perfect. If you do tint the windshield go with a high %, you don't want a dark dark tint on your windshield. I would go with 75% or something, just to block most of the UV. I agree, the white on black contract ratio here is awesome. I certainly enjoy it. Thanks for the comment.
