I mounted my passport radar detector in my new Prius last week. I use the sunvisor mount with a homemade rubber shim to level it. Ran the wire under the windshield stick { pull back the weatherstripping] and under the dash to the cigarette lighter with an inline fuse. I want to know I am going the limit or less when I am targeted by radar. Used to do dealer trades and it saved my butt many a time. JWB
I have my radar detector mounted in a desk drawer. I mounted it there over a decade ago and it seems to be a good place for it, especially now that I drive a Prius. Tom

So ... you were driving new cars for dealers, hell-bent before they were properly broken in? Great to hear, really instills some confidence in the automotive sales industry. . _H*
Did I say that or did you make yourself feel superior by saying it? To reiterate if a signal goes off I want to look and make sure I am not inadvertantly going over the limit. In the cases mentioned it could mean a net loss for the day and sometimes the week. Thank you JWB
2nd vote on the blendmount along with the invisicord that allows you to plug into the mirror. BTW, I have a V that has the Homelink option. Valentine 1 works well in the Prius.
I wish more people would take pics of what they do. It is hard to buy a cell phone that you can not take a pic and email it to your self to post. Here are some pics of mine. Cobra Electronics XRS R10G IntelliLink Wireless Remote Maximum Performance Digital Radar/Laser Detector with Speed & R This thing does everything. It tells me when train is ahead, when a cop has someone pulled over. It warns me about stop light and speed cameras and many other cool things. It is very low price to buy.
