Yes, we may be a Prius site, but we love all almost all cars that use green technology, including EVs. One we particularly love around here in the Nissan LEAF. So much so that we have a forum here on PriusChat for LEAF discussions. Yesterday, PriusChat moderator and long-time member efusco created a thread for tracking how many people on PriusChat have put down their $99 deposit. Want to add your name to the list? Just follow the good Dr.'s instructions and reply to this thread with the following: If you have ordered a Leaf (actually put down the $99 deposit) go ahead and put down the next number in the series so we can see how many here on PC have actually ordered one. Use the following format: #X--{color}{package SL-higher, SV-lower}{date reservation placed}
#2--Red, SL You have good taste Dr Evan BTW, I believe the total number will be about 150,000, of course not all of them have heard of PriusChat, but I did post a link on the facebook page for NissanLeaf to the general area for "nissan-hybrids-evs" daniel: contraire, they are using this to gauge the popularity of each color and the percentage they should make of each package. After all, people believe in it enough to put down $99, so it's sort of a survey for them to assist with mfr projections.
#3 -- Blue -- SL -- Today I doubt the color and package choices mean anything right now. The confirmation notice said they'd tell us about availability by the end of June, and previously they said August a select few would be invited to place a firm order. I'm sure that's when we really pick a color and package.
#18 - white SV - 20 Apr 2010 The $99 is not a deposit. It buys a place in line to order when the Leaf is available in your local market. It is more like an option. It is refunded if you don't buy, but it isn't necessarily included in the net price of the home charging station or the vehicle, which must be negotiated with a dealer. I hope Nissan releases a count of priority registrations. I think the priority registration period is open until May 15.
