You have a car named after you... Just damn... My wife tells me she has an appliance named after me... BOB... battery operated boyfriend... I'm sure your complimentary car has much higher status than mine does... although, I hear I am quite popular outside of my house too... I just never have heard it from any of the other aforementioned owners. And I understand I am not supposed to ask either...
Yeah, but I'm a criminal. I break the law. True story: When I was in prison at Yankton, there was a recreation room and there was a pool table. I was playing pool with this guy and there was no extender. So I asked if it was okay to climb up onto the table to make a shot. The guy I was playing against said "Normally the rule is that you have to keep one foot on the ground. But we're criminals. We break the law. So go ahead and climb on the table." Another true story: When I was in jail one time we were playing poker with money from the Monopoly game. I lost all my money and the guy next to me loaned me $500 of Monopoly money, which I lost also. So when the guard brought the toothpaste in and everyone went back to their cells to get their toothbrushes, I grabbed $500 out of the Monopoly bank before getting my toothbrush. After we'd all brushed our teeth we had 15 minutes before being locked into our cells, and I gave the $500 to the guy who'd loaned me the play money. He asked where I'd gotten it, and I told him "I'm a criminal. I robbed the Monopoly bank." And this guy (we're all in jail, remember!) gave the $500 back to the Monopoly bank!!! This guy was more honest than the cops and judge who'd thrown him in jail! So I'll put sugar in my oolong. You can arrest me if you like. In fact, I'd rather like it if you would.
No reason to make a new thread when one already exists. I finally got a new job after being unemployed for 1 year, 7 mos, 2 weeks. Its not as a Living Well Coordinator, it is as an Automotive Equipment Standards Engineer for the California Highway Patrol. I'm gonna be happy to finally be working again. I considered Daniel's suggestion to go into business making Homeless and Hungry signs but ultimately decided there was too much competition and not enough profit margin. I celebrated by buying some luxury items like new underwear. I think I will buy some Weathertech floor liners for the Prius after I get my first paycheck. I start next Tuesday.
Thanks. I am a non-uniformed employee (not a sworn officer) so the first thing I had to do was call the woman who orders the uniforms. I get a set of shirts, pants and I believe two jackets.
Make sure you keep those CHP cruisers fast enough to catch the quick Prii. The new Ford Taurus SHO should be good.
Actually my job will be designing the wiring harnesses and helping the techs who install the radio equipment, light bars, etc. Initially, I will be the lead person at the wiring bench where they build all of the harnesses. I think this job will be a good fit because I have some experience designing automotive wiring harnesses from my past job at a Class 8 truck mfg company and my experience in electronics manufacturing at my last job will help with the production aspects. They said I'm going to be really busy.
That is wonderful news! Congratulations! (I'm interested in knowing what they do with the radio equipment that is retired as cruisers are taken out of service.)
Did I actually suggest making "Homeless and Hungry" signs? Hmm. Well, congratulations on finding employment. I hope the state of CA finds enough money to actually pay you your salary.
My understanding is that normally most of it is reused, but they are in the middle of a system upgrade to a more integrated system. http://www.chp.ca.gov/pdf/CHPERS_pres.pdf
