    Hi Guys- (and gals!)

I finally decided to make a video which teaches almost all the Prius high-mileage driving techniques. Normally, new owners have to fish around and put this info together piece-by-piece from the forum and other postings. I hope this helps!

    Thanks You'all!

Outstanding presentation. I self-taught a lot of this while driving my 2003 Prius from Oct 2002 to Dec 2009. The IV is a quantum leap in both creature comforts and MPG. Thanks for teaching me a different set of braking techniques.:cheer2:

Thanks, you did a really outstanding job. I figured most of those techniques out for myself, but I'm going to work at it a bit more. My commute is 85 miles a day roundtrip, mostly on a busy freeway. I set my cruise control for 55 MPH for most of it, but my mileage isn't hitting 60 MPG, it's more like 50 to 54.

I live in Alameda, CA, a small island community with a 25 MPH maximum speed limit that is enforced. Before my commute, I drive a few miles in town to drop the kids off, almost exclusively using the battery.

Maybe I'll put some more air in the tires; they're currently inflated to 33/35 PSI, which is the spec.

    Thanks Bob,

I am in second week of Prius ownership, and your video makes more sense than all the reading I have been doing.

Wave hello if you see a Red Prius putting along at 55 mph on the freeway, it'll be me! Given the rain and cooler temperatures we've had, your mileage will be less. Also, you will see better MPG's with your tire pressures raised. On the days that it hasn't been raining, I've been getting a touch over 60 mpg on my drive from Pleasanton to Foster City (max speed = 55 mph and I'm leaving for work before 5 am)

Excellent video Bob! I think it's the best I've seen on the subject thus far!

While some of what you discussed I am already doing there are things you brought out that I was not aware of. I'll definitely add those pointers to my high MPG game plan. :)

    Thanks much!

Good clear video. I enjoyed it.

Any chance that you plan to do one regarding the warm up stages on the 2010 Prius?

I know many people who read about it on the forum, but would benefit from a video explanation as opposed to only having to rely on the written words.

Here's a link to the thread that explains the stages in writing.

I learned new things and enjoyed the video very much, but the best thing was that my wife actually watched it and has adjusted her driving to improve her mpg because of it!

I also picked up some great tips. The explanations of how the HSI works were excellent. Also, I never understood until the video on the concept of releasing the gas and re-depressing it slightly for best efficiency. I will try all these techniques.

    FANTASTIC job Bob!

I thought that I read the owners manual pretty well and paid attention for driving tips on PChat. I've had my Prius now for 11 months and your video provided a wonderful tutorial. Very informative, well paced, great visuals, and excellent narrative. Should be a must-see for most any new '10 owner, especially those that desire the best performance and economy.

    Can't thank you enough!!!
