Hi fellow sun scorched Prius Owners! We just picked up our new 2005 Salsa Red Prius last Sunday and I'm actually surprised at how much I enjoy the car. Is there anything going on with this group or is it mainly just a on-line chat deal? Thanks!!
Bows, It appears that the Phoenix club is pretty quiet, but I have only been here a few weeks more than you. Welcome. After 1 1/2 months in a black 05 prius, I have seen the following 05's around town. (1) Salsa Red (1) White (2) Silver (3) Driftwood Pearl (2) Tideland Pearl (0) Seaside Pearl (0) Black Tiffky
hello bows and tiffky - congrats on your new purchases! i've been here only about a month, and have found this site such a valuable resource as i have made small changes to my prius to make it me! 8) tiffky, i might have seen you just the other day - it was on mcclintock just south of trader joe's in tempe - in my 05 driftwood, and saw someone in an 05 black... whether that was you or not, it's always cool to see another prius owner and that little acknowledging wave see you around...
yes! probably next weekend. i just received it on friday, but spent all day yesterday installing the amp and mini-subwoofer, and today has been quite busy with father's day activities. from what i've read, the only tough part is installing the single pin... we'll see!
Welcome! I am new to this site as well. We got our 2005 toward the end of Feb. I am not quite at 4000 miles yet. I too am surprised at how much I love the car. I have never been a "car" type person, so this is a very new feeling to me.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(tiffky\";p=\"99858)</div> EV Button installed and working fine - took me about 20 mins to install & was very simple & straightforward. It's pretty cool to pull in & out of Starbucks in the a.m. in 'stealth' mode... I do have one strange issue w/ it that I'm not sure about. There are times when I can't get the car to go into EV mode - usually after a relatively long time in the car (40 mins plus). Battery is fine, speed very low or stopped - and it just doesn't want to go into EV - gives me the triple-beep-decline. (?) Anyone else experience this? Maybe it's the heat (it's only happened when it's 105 plus). ?
Welcome new Phoenix members! I've been out of the PriusChat loop for a bit. I organized a few meetups in early spring, and we had decent turnout to the first two, then interest waned. We didn't have a lot of membership in the group until recently, so if there is interest out there in the group, I'd love to do a monthly meet-up again when it cools off a bit. Maybe at the end of Sepetember? Let me know what you think... Sparky, you may try asking htmlspinnr about the EV mode, he's a member of the Phoenix group and installed his own EV button as well. He's a pretty knowledgeable guy.
Many Prius and other Hybrid owners go to the Pavillions malls Saturday night car show. Hybrids are becoming a part of the show. The Phoenix Elec Auto Association also invites you to our 1st Saturday of the month meetings on Camelback at Childress auto just east 1 block off I17. We talk about hybrids, plugin hybrids and electric vehicles. It's free and fun. Jim PhoenixEAA.com
