i'm wondering if a bad CV joint(s) could be making the low rumbling sound in my 04 with 70,000 miles? sound starts at low speed and changes with speed. thanks everyone!
Bad CV joints usually make a clicking noise while turning. A low rumble would indicate a bad wheel bearing.
In either case it's time for a trip to a mechanic. A wheel falling off or freezing up on the freeway can ruin your entire day.
jacked up the car today, rear wheels were smooth and quiet, fronts made a shushing noise, roters? disks? cvjoints/axles? both sides sounded the same. how can you tell if it's a bearing? mechanic?
