Sadly I see new cars driven on the Long Island Expressway with 'Transporter' plates on them, and window stickers at speeds not consistent with the recommendations of Toyota for breaking in the car. Things like no hard stops, for the first 200 miles, and avoid sudden acceleration or 'high speeds' during the first 600 miles. Oh yeah, Nobody ever "floor" the accelerator of a new car who's test driving it, . . . Believe that and I've got some Brooklyn Bridge Stock that would interest you. If the car has nearly 200 miles on it from what you suggest, I suggest it had all of the above done to it before you ever got it.
:noidea: Ya, when I picked mine up I thought they had the wrong mats!! It's like anything else you get use to it,Don't know how well gray would look!! Maybe a darker brown?? what mats do you have in there now?? just ordered a Toyota all weather cargo mat! $65 free shipping The bisque one looks like sh!t! Talk about showing the dirt!!
I bought a set of clear see through vinyl mats, cut them to fit, and drilled the drivers mat for the hold down hooks. I then added HD velcrow so the mats grip the carpeting and do not slide at all. They look like they belong, and are a huge improvement over the :crazy:black mats that match nothing, and look like they belong in some other car.:noidea:
I love my V. Would buy it again in an instant. I really enjoy the ATP. I use the DRCC and LKA all the time. And I think park assist is a real plus and use it when I'm downtown.
How can you miss something you never had? Not questioning your decision, as everyone has their budgets and priorities, but the DRCC is totally worth it. I couldn't imagine using cruise control ever again without the radar. Last weekend, I drove from Sacramento to San Jose and barely used the gas or brake pedals at all.
I am very happy with my 2010 Prius V w/AT package. I had experience no problems with the 2010 Prius. It just keeps on running.
I have to agree, it is the best Prius yet, and the model V is the best looking one which is why I went ahead and spent 33k to get it. The 17" tires and alloy wheels make a huge difference in the looks, making it look almost like a sports car. That being said, there are a couple things I'm a little disappointed in. All things that have been talked about here. First, is how inaccurate the gauges are. When the last bar starts flashing on the gas gauge, there's 3 gallons left in the tank. To me that's rediculous considering the tank is only 11.9 gallons. It should come on when there 1.5 to 2 gallons left. It's annoying at 3 left. The gauge that shows how many miles left to empty is way off. I can go 150 more miles when it hits zero. Again rediculous. I understand Toyota doesn't want you to run out of gas, which apparently is why they have the gauges off like that, but we're all smart enough to read our gauges and not run out of gas. If anything, it's more confusing trying to figure out how much is actually left because of the guage discrepency! And the consumption gauge that shows your total MPG is off by 4-5 mpg. So when it shows I got 50 for a full tank, my actual tank is 45. Bummer. Second, even though the car has a very quiet ride overall, I'm starting to get some creeks and rattles inside like other people have been complaining about. Kind of unacceptable for a 33k car after only 5000 miles. And I have to mention another thing that I see a lot of people disappointed in, the fact that it is very difficult to get the 50 mpg as advertised. You have to drive pretty slow and careful to get anywhere near 50 for full tank. If you just "drive" the car you'll average 40-45. Still great mileage, but not the big 50 as advertised and bragged about. So overall the model V is a nice car, but 33k is a lot for it. I think Toyota should really bring that top price down some.
I love my V. I wouldn't trade it for anything in this world. Ok, I would for an original 1963 427 AC cobra.
Since you mention the Cobra, do you realize for the exact same price we paid for the brand new model V, we could have a gotten a brand new 2010 Camaro SS, the coolest car on the road right now?
I like the 2010 Camaro SS very much, but I don't like it as much as my 2000 Trans Am WS6 6 speed. The Camaro is Heavy and so it is using the additional 100HP over my T/A to lug the extra 800LBs around.
Good thought, a 63 might be a 289 though. [ame=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AC_Cobra]AC Cobra - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/ame]
This just happened to me,stopped for gas after light started to flash maybe 10 miles. I normally just put in 10 bucks worth thought I would fill to see where it was at!!filled it to the cap!! It took just 9 gallons Now I can set my TRIP and know I can go a 100 e-z
Comment on the 63 AC: Actually the 63 would likely be a 260. The 289 followed quickly on the heels of the first few 260s, with the 289 arriving in the 64 models. Drove a 64 289 in 65 to compare to my 65 350hp corvette. What a ride, but absolutely no creature comforts. Of course, would like either one today for my Sunday drives. :focus: We love the V and all the technology, but main driver has a lead foot, so we only get 43-44 mpg.
Yes, I'm definitely happy with my Pearl V. I particularly value the brilliant LED headlights: a great driving and safety feature for highway travel at night. Here are a features that Toyota should add, I think, as standard to their top-of-the-line model: * additional adjustments (tilt) and electric controls on the driver's seat; * turn-signal equipped side-view mirrors (these are standard on all Prius models in Japan!); * read-out of the values for the Tire Pressure Monitoring System.
I experienced everything else everyone else has with their V's including the steep price. However, has anyone been bothered by the fluctuating faint whistling/high pitched noise that can be heard in the dashboard especially during acceleration/breaking? You have to turn off the radio to really hear it and be young with good ears, although I'm 40 and can still hear it. The sound is high pitched so not everyone can hear it. But with me having such good ears and suffer with migraines, I wish it wasn't there. I suspect its coming from something electronic like the ECU or computer chip component back there.
