more clarification RE: Zero Drive Off you can always do a zero drive-off (nothing out of pocket to take the car home). that doesn't mean the dmv fees or whatever other fees aren't paid, it means the dealer pays them for you and you're essentially "borrowing" that amount, which is tacked onto the cap cost of the lease. it makes sense when the money factor is so low, as on the prius right now because you're paying interest on that drive-off, which would have been $680. but in 3 yrs, that interest isn't a big deal, probably amounts to $20. I opted to zero drive off because it just feels cool, like u got away with something. who doesn't like the idea of taking a car home w/o anything out of pocket! FYI, you can do zero drive off for any car lease; just depends whether it makes sense due to the money factor & how much it increases your monthly payment. dealers sometimes lie and say you can't, but you CAN!
Seriously? So the guy pays 36 bucks in interest over 3 years to feel like he stole the car - good for him. What's with the negativity? You've already prattled on about how leases are dumb. This thread is for the recent leasers and prospective leasers to compare offers and assist each other. Go troll elsewhere.
It reminds me of all the people that bragged that they just bought a house with zero down and 1% the first year (AKA subprime loan). We all know what happen to most of them.
Why does everyone keep wasting their time arguing with Judgemental? He's just bitter that be bought his before the press fiasco and spent way too much.
rmary it is your 8th post here. Are you a dealer / lecher trying to get people to waste money? Keep advising people to buy / lease a car with zero down. It worked for all the mortgage brokers for a while. Most of them are selling used cars now.
That's the best you can come up with? Wow. I'm disappointed. I expected better from someone who is clearly the smartest participant on this forum. Keep getting your jollies from telling everyone else they wasted their money, that you and only you know best, and we'll all keep ignoring you. And on that June 2009 purchase, sorry that the truth hurts.
You have 376 posts, I'm sure most of which are more of this asinine crap. Please leave this forum alone. You're not helping anyone.
depreciation % with 15k miles/year - III vs. IV I am looking at leasing either a Prius III or Prius IV using the Toyota promo. Does anyone know what the depreciation % would be on a lease for 36 months with 15k miles per year for both the III and the IV? Thanks!
I agree with your thinking 100%.The residuals/leases are so good on the Prius your better off leasing it ,saving a bundle over three years ,and having the option to buy or re-lease a new one.
I was reading this site and appreciate reading people who actually got deals from the dealers. I went through the "fun" of a dealer and then went to another dealer. In NJ here is what I found - hopefully it helps you. 1850 down 199 a month (that is the payment with tax) or 850 a month and $224 or (the one I am taking) $0 down and $250 a month. This is on a II with bluetooth. I think the car price is $22,000 and the factor is 1.9% Good luck and I hope your experience is better than mine.
This is what was agreed on: 2010 Prius III (pearl) with mats and rear bumper applique. 3yr/45k miles $500 down including 1st month payment $236 a month (including all taxes and fees) This is what I walked away with $800 down plus 1st month payment $247 a month (including taxes and fees)
How's this deal: 2010 IV $32,500 msrp Silver navi solar roof leather every option available on the IV 3yrs/36k $0 drive off fee $399/mo (includes all taxes etc.) What do you think?
2010 Prius V (pearl) with mats, Nav and nitrogen in the tires. 3yrs/36k 2 free years of service $1,200 drive off including GAP ins. $312 (includes all taxes etc.)
I think we pay more in California. I drive over 500 miles a week, so I cannot possibly lease a car. I just purchased a Prius II. I put $6,000 down and I pay $361/mo for 59 months with Toyota's 3.99% financing.
Could be a tad high. Mine was basically the same car (except Pearl). I had a $855 drive-off vs. your $0 drive-off. The difference in drive-off should have more than compensated for the extra miles on my lease (15k/yr). My payments are $370 including taxes and I've seen others here who have done better than me. What is the adjusted cap cost on your lease? That, minus the $650 lease origination fee, is the actual selling price that you're getting. You should be getting at least $2k off MSRP. The rest is pretty inflexible (residual, money factor, etc.). Is your credit tier-1? That makes a difference too.
Wow, that's a great deal. Is it b/c its Prius III. I got Prius IV w/solar pkg. BLK with Misty Grey and there wasn't many out there.. Paid $450 above invoice. I think $500 above invoice was Edmunds avg.
