Hello everyone. I just bought an '06. I just recently became employed again and was spending $100 a week in gas for my '99 Wrangler. The Prius is awesome. They had it listed as a base model for $12997. It was black and had 47K so I figured that was all I needed to save money. I didn't need all the bells and whistles. When I hopped in I quickly noticed that it had leather, blue thooth and the buttons on the rear view. When I started it the nav popped up. Bonus! They gave me 6K for my Jeep so I think I got a really great deal. Thought? I'm really glad I made the deal and look forward to keeping it for a long time. Dave
Hi Dave, Congrats and welcome to PriusChat. It's really the best place on Earth for info on your Prius. Here's the 2006 Prius eBrochure, which describes all the equipment that's Standard and in each of the Packages (if your leather is factory, then it sounds like you have the highest option package for model year 2006 -- Package #8): 06_prius.pdf Also, here's the 2007 Prius Owner's Manual on PDF (minus the table of contents and index), together with the table of contents on a Word file. I believe that 99% to 100% of it is applicable to your 2006. You can do word and phrase searches and find exactly what you're looking for usually a lot quicker than searching the hard copy of the Manual. 2007 Prius Owners Manual.pdf Table of Contents 2007 Prius Owners Manual.doc Good luck.
Dave, when they told you it was a 'base' model, it means it was not a 'Touring' model. There are/were 2 models, Base and Touring. In each of these models, there are several packages.
Thank you everyone for the great feedback. I didn't get an owners manual so that information is just what I have been looking for. Thank you so much everyone. Dave
You bought a base model but got a fully loaded one. You have auto-dimming rear view mirror with HomeLink. You can program it to open your garage. You probably have HID headlight as well. That's a great deal!
If you also didn't get a copy of Toyota's Scheduled Maintenance Guide see here: Toyota Parts and Service That's pretty much everything the car requires. For additional tips search the maintenance forum for posts by galaxee, patrick wong, hobbit, ...
