    I've had a quiet life lately so I'm gonna risk it and ask;

    Are taxi drivers buttholes too?

    Well, since you asked . . .

    I recently took a trip to New York, NY. Got in a cab at the airport for our trip to Manhattan. Thought we were gonna die. But it was kinda fun, in a NASCAR/bumper cars sorta way. The driver was very hard to understand due to his thick accent.

    We took a pedicab ride back to our hotel one night because we didn't want to walk it. The automobile cabs were reluctant to yield the right-of-way and I thought we were gonna die again a few times.

    Next we took a cab (automobile) from the hotel to the cruise ship. Again a thick accent. He spent the whole ride talking in a foreign language to someone on his cell phone. He was pissed when I asked him to drop us in front of the cruise terminal instead of across the street. He didn't want to go up there because he thought it would take him longer to get his next fare as the ship had already disembarked. Definite butthole.

    The cab ride from the ship back to the airport was an adventure too. The driver's accent wasn't quite as bad so I started making conversation as he drove. He was from the Ukraine and had been a limo driver before, but due to the economic downturn business had dried up and now he was driving a cab. He was pleasant, but he was all over the freeway cutting off cars, driving in the breakdown lane, talking on his cell phone. At one point another driver straddled the line between the slow lane and the breakdown lane to prevent our cab from passing him on the right. When the cabby finally found a way past him in a construction zone, the other guy honked his horn and gave him the middel-finger wave. The cabby acted as though the other guy was in the wrong. But we arrived at the airport unscathed, so life if good. :D

    The cab driver in London when we went there was very nice, though.

    To the extent that they are reflections of their customers, I say yes!

    I hate to resurrect an old thread but I thought this would be a suitable one;

    So are Truck Drivers Buttholes? Well check out the following video taken on the motorway about 20 miles away from where I live.

    I think the driver of this car will think that they are indeed buttholes!

    It's not just truck drivers that hate you if you drive a Prius. This is the 1st car that I owned that I have had drivers cut me off, not let me in, and just be nasty. I had on occasions A-hole's cut me off before in my other cars but nothing like this while driving my Prius. I think non Prius owners (not all) think if you drive a Prius, you drive very slow and are going to be in their way. The Prius gets no respect on the road. You would think that people would appreciate that you are trying to help the environment? Some people are so ignorant. :confused:

    Wow, amazing. But just think of the mileage the car driver is getting!

    Yeah, but he's gonna need a new set of tires which wipes out the fuel savings. :madgrin:

    What may have happened further up the road is the rims bite into the road surface flipping the car then throwing the truck in the air possibly killing all involved including the drop kick driving the truck.

    Luckily not. They stopped after a few more miles! Though I think the chances that the truck driver received a black eye from the lady driver of the car are quite high! :eek:

    I strongly suspect something more than simple passing was going on between these two, if it happened the way it was described. In Georgia a car must not pull back in front of a truck after passing until it has cleared the truck by several car lengths. Truckers have had to slam on the brakes when some car slows up in front of them after passing just to keep from rolling over them. I don't drive a semi, but I understand the laws of physics, and they often dictate what a heavy truck can and cannot do. My advice, respect the trucker and his difficult job, and he'll respect you.
