found it on here via GOOGLE search.... leather wrapped steering wheel & seats heated seats (undocumented feature: the switch is next to impossible to reach) power lumbar support for drivers seat SKS - unlock passenger side and hatch auto-dimming mirror and Homelink ionizer cabin filter (plasmacluster?)
Definitely a challenge for The Prius Project. Toyota's website says this is included with Prius IV and V. Water-repellent glass is manufactured into the side windows. Research is needed...
Yeah... what the heck is with that? Has anyone tried relocating these buttons (or at least the driver-side) to an easier to use location?
I'm confused about your post? if my post confused you, I meant front side windows, not the windshield. Yes, it is on the IV and V.
I've actually tried to reach the accelerator pedal and I can't if I keep a hand on the steering wheel, but I will also admit that I can reach the seat heater button, I just can't tell if I am doing my seat or my passengers. It's not in a place where the passenger can reach it easily either if they want to turn on their side on their own. That said, the differences between the III and the IV have been accurately stated. For me I love being able to walk up to the passenger door to open all the doors, but if you are used to locking/unlocking with the key fob, then it will not be a big deal. I love HomeLink, I program it for the garage door and then I can put it away. I love leather seats, but most dealers can easily add it. For me having a back up camera is absolutely essential. Visibility out the rear window is probably the weakest element of the car. I was surprised that it was not standard (it was on all trims of the Gen II). The advantage for you now is that with all the fuss with the runaway Prius, you should be able to get a great deal.
Sorry for the confusion -- you have to check my signature. I just bought my Prius II, with the firm conviction that I can add everything to make it a Prius IV at half the cost. This is my challenge; let's see how I do. The water-repellent windows are definitely a challenge. Now that I dug deeper -- the passenger side and rear hatch on the IV have the Smart Key, and on the II, it's only the driver's side. An interesting conundrum. I'll have to keep my eyes on a wrecking yard for those tidbits.
There's been talk of modding the car for SKS. Check the mods forum and do a search in there. I would love to do that to mine and be able to easily open the hatch or passenger door to put groceries in.
i'm new to this forum. am leasing a new prius and deciding between the III and IV, and was hoping someone could help me decide... with 0 down, the III is 275 and the IV is 306. which package should i go for? thanks for yr help/advice!
I think there are other areas for asking about pricing and the meaning of lease rates. I suggest you start a new thread there, and somebody will help you understand what you're really getting and what questions to ask. Basically, you should never begin with the monthly cost, you need to end there. Leases come with many different options, and you need to understand them, or else you risk getting ripped off.
I think that's going to be up to your individual needs and preferences. Check the list posted earlier in this thread to see the differences. I did not want to sit on a dead animal and I hate leather seats anyway, so it was a no brainer for me. Also, I've always heard you lose a lot of money leasing a car. My friend really regretted leasing instead of buying. So unless you know what you're getting into I would investigate whether it's worth it to lease rather than buy.
You couldn't find the sticky thread because it's in the Gen II - Knowledge Based Articles Discussion forum: http://priuschat.com/forums/knowled...andard-optional-equipment-some-countries.html Also, check out the 2010 Prius eBrochure: 2010 Prius eBrochure.pdf .
