Less than 30 mpg is pretty hard to achieve unless your drives are really short and you've got some issues w/the car (low tire pressure, bad alignment, low 12 volt battery, etc.)

 

44....after replacing my OE tires with 'energy savers.' was easily getting 48/49 prior to the new tires.....

 

11.6k miles so far on my 09. Overall average is 53.6 calc/55.1 MFD. Worst tanks were 48.7/53.6 on an all highway trip to Miami and 47.8/53.6 around town during one of this years very "cold" periods. Cold is in quotes since I am in NE Florida. I know there will be no symphathy from the northern areas, but it really was very cold here this winter - multiple days of temps in the 20s and 30s.

 

Worst trip for me was one day when it snowed during rush hour and what is normally a 40 minute commute took two hours in stop and go traffic. Temp was -2 Celcius and computer showed 6.0 l/100km (39 mpg) when I got home. Computer is optimistic so that is more like 35 mpg calculated for that trip when I was averaging about 48-49 mpg calculated on a tank around then.

If it had been 10 degrees colder I would guess it could easily drop down into the 20's

 

45 MPG on my very first tank

 

44 mpg Denver to 90 miles SE of Wichita and back. Probably because I was driving 70-72 mph into a stiff wind both ways (hate it when that happens). Since Oct 08, 53.6 mpg.

 

My worst fuel economy is 6,99L/100 km or 14,306 Km/L that mean (14,306*3,785) 54,148 MPG. Winter was very cold and the car new.

 

49.7 first two tanks Apr -May 2007. >50 on every tank ever since.

 

6.5 L/100km I drove from Toronto to Waterloo in -10 weather. My driving at 140km/h didn't exactly help the fuel economy either.

 

40 over the speed limit - must have had a strong tailwind

 

Which still kicks butt over any other car driving in the same circumstances

 

28 MPG (full tank) 2 years ago.

Huge 28" in 12 hours snowstorm one day, plows couldn't keep up. Took 3 hours to beat my way home after work that day (10 miles). Had to work to get it UP to 28 MPG after that!

 

32 MPG are average for me in the winter. Apparently I am not doing enough to get better mileage.

Lowest MFD mileage is 43.8, looks to be at the end of a trip up to Nevada to visit the in-laws in may 2009. Lots of freeway, lots of uphill, lots of air conditioning blasting.

Lowest calculated (how much gas did I buy/how many miles did I drive) is 35.68 from January 2006. I have no idea what i was doing at the time to push it so low, but it would have been a lot short trips; I drove on that tank for 22 days and averaged just over 16 miles a day... Interestingly, the MFD mileage for that tank was 45.9; you've got to love what that flexible bladder does to these sorts of calculations. :blink:

 

Lowest MFD mileage is 33 for the dark wintry months of Dec,Jan,and Feb. Approx 10 miles total to work and back home. Temps well under freezing (0 to 25 F). Grille blocked 80%.

 

press tha parking brake down hard. If it is adjusted right the car will not move or just barely

 

29.4 mpg doing warp speed across I-40 through NM. Combined with a bladder with severe prostate problems (7.5gallons max fill when down to 1 bar left) you don't go all that far between fillups. It's getting to the point where if I need to go far and fast (cruise control above 75) I should take the V8 Camaro.

It's more anoying than having the whole family want to stop at every gas station to go pee and buy more uber sized drinks so they can go pee again two and a bit hours down the road.

 

have gotten to 40mpg only once, I think; usually lower. Live in the middle of Chicago where you basically have to stop every two blocks at least; yes, I use my heat and air and radio. Have an '04 with package 9 if that matters

 

down to 48.9 with the new tires. They have 1000 miles now. dont know if/when they break in or get better with mpg. driving hwy can bring it down into the 48.3 range. city driving under 40mph brings it back up to 49.1

far cry from the avg 55 I used to get. But these tires are safer by far.

 

48mpg combined for the tank. It was my first tank right out of our dealer's lot. I then learned how to drive the car by going to PRIUSCHAT UNIVERSITY. Since then, my worst tank is 52mpg.
