With a known difference of speedometer at around 2% or less, would a 205/50R16 on an '07 TOURING make a drastic difference like hitting the fenders or throwing off the NAVI ??

You're going with 2% smaller tires, so they shouldn't have any clearance issues. Whether it makes a difference with the navigation is not a question I can answer. I run 205/55/16 (recommended size for touring) and I am fine.

Stock tires for 08 are 195/65R16, I installed
Michellen HydroEdge 205/55R16s - Installed early Nov 2009.
I drove to Anaheim, Ca (From Vancouver, BC Canada) over the holiday season racking up 3150 miles on the new tires. 44/44psi,Avg mileage: 42.5Mpg (best tank while in LA 45.7Mpg)
Overall the tires worked great in rain and dry, great handling.
Milelage is below what I expected, however with the excess weight in the vehicle, speeds, hills, etc it makes sense.

Tires are now broken in properly and I am seeing a return to the winter expecations of 43.5 to 45mpg depending on the weather. We are still getting rain which seems to also decrease the milelage. No cold weather (relatively speaking) yet.
Update - Jan 24th - Last tank 45.8Mpg, cool weather, light rain - not really winter weather

Tires look great, handle great and far better overall than stock tires.
I believe I am losing a bit in reported milage but not enough to worry about. Nav system - its never dead on accurate anyhow, so unless your travelling 1000's of miles without looking up, it should not matter.

I went to the MICHELIN Web Site and checked out the HYDROEDGE.......... WOW 90,000 mile warranty with a treadwear of 800....... now I see why you chose them !!

My ADVAN tires have a treadwear rating of 180 . The car handles amazingly on them.

I was "reasoned out" (talked out) of buying the Continental Extreme Contact DWS because of it's "sticky tread compound" acts the OPPOSITE of a L.R.R. Tire and my gas mileage would go way down even though handling would go "up" !!

I have now decided (and am pretty set on these) on 205/55/R16 Michelin PRIMACY MXV4's !! (H rated)
