Where To Keep Fob Inside Car?

I wouldn't want to risk forgetting and leaving it in the car. Mine hangs from a carabinier on my belt. It goes on when I dress and comes off when I undress. It's a great boon not to have to think about keys when I go to or come from my car.

 

I keep it in one of the pockets of my jacket. Never use them, just moving them from one pocket to another one when wearing another jacket.

 

There was a mention somewhere in PC, about a "super-secret compartment" supposedly located under the console. If you can find it (I never could! hints, anyone?), you might want to use it for the fob.

Personally I like to keep the fob in my pocket at all times.

The "super-secret compartment" you're referring to isn't really that secret. It's just that it's not easily noticed by most Prius owners. It would be a secret to you undoubtedly because your Prius is a 2010 model & the hidden compartment is only a slide-out drawer in the front end of the console of the 2G (2004-2009) Prius. It is mentioned right here in this thread in post #13. He joined in 2010, but he has a 2007 Prius.

I keep it in the same pocket that it is in while I'm not inside my Prius. Taking the fob from that pocket and putting it somewhere inside the car would be pointless.

 

I had to look up carabinier. It's a cavalry soldier armed with a carbine. I think you mean carabiner, which is a metal loop with a sprung or screwed gate.

How about using one of those retractable key chains on a belt like janitors or maintenance people? Those are super classy.

 

There is always the Dalkon fob case, which takes care of fob storage *and* contraception.

If you frequently need to open the other doors, then it makes sense to get the SKS reprogrammed to open all the doors.
You could also just open the drivers door via the SKS and then pressing the door unlock button by hand is still faster than searching for the fob buried at the bottom of a large, messy purse.

I don't know if you have the three door SKS, but with my Gen II three door system, when I have other riders, I tap the hatch button as I walk by. A single press unlocks all of the doors, but leaves the hatch shut.

Perhaps one of the Gen III owners can say if this works for them.

I have a little outside pocket on my bag that closes with velcro and fits all my keys and FOB in it. Easy peasy.

Oh. I don't have a 3 door SKS. Doh!

Well I'll still report that my findings so that I won't feel I wasted my time. Stubbornness has nothing to do with it. All combinations tried resulted in no unlocking of anything by tapping on the hatch button.

(Why is "combinations" coming up as misspelled? Can't that word be pluralized?)
