What is OEM kit? Does Toyota sell genuine wood trim for Prius?

I called the kit of this thread as OEM only because it comes with toyota part number. I checked with my local dealer at NJ and they cannot recognize this number at their system. They said this might be south east only part number and it is not in their system yet. I do not get it what this part guy said...

Instruction sheet has Toyota logo and "Southeast Toyota Distributors, LLC," so it's probably their part number and not Toyota CENTCOM. UPS says kit will arrive Monday.

Probably not. As LeeB said, it's from the SE Toyota Distributors (SET). Toyota sales in the US is a bit odd. TMS doesn't control the entire country (so to speak). They do sell in most parts of the country except the SE corner (controlled by SET) and the Gulf States (controlled by Gulf State Toyota Distributors or GST).

    Hello Guys,
I just would like to post some pictures of the Dash Kit with Gray Wood Trim from Toyota South East Distributors. It is a Toyota part, and there are instructions how to install it.
If you need more photos, let me know.
    :D

    P.S.
Sorry it took me so long to post these pictures!

Do you like overall quality of th product, especially in terms of color matching to other part of your dashboard?
Mine is coming on its way and any tips for installation?

    Thanks!

Thanks for the post. The long grain looks kind of weird. I was hoping to see something like black bird's eye maple.

I guess they started with two most popular color or grain (they think of course) for grey and beige cabins. I would like to see more options but that's all we have at the moment and I doubt they will provide more options in the near future. It is still way better than cheap plastic dash and I will stick with it and enjoy until I have more options. I can simply swap them later if I do have more options down the road.
I can't simply stand current dashboard.

Not quite what I was expected. Like 32K, I was expecting black bird's eye maple. Nevertheless, that wood design looks quite good!

I installed mine yesterday. I followed the instruction sequence of installing the lower panel (around the shift lever) first. However, when I positioned the upper panel, I found I had to make a choice: leave a small gap at the joint between the lower and upper panels, or file the upper outboard openings to allow the temperature and fan rocker switches to move freely. I didn't want to see a gap, so I took a fine metal file and rubbed off a small amount of plastic around the openings for the two switches. It was only a tiny amount, took about 30 seconds, and is undetectable. (It might have been better to install the upper panel first, but that might have led to some unknown consequence.) Otherwise, the installation was simple and uneventful. The panels follow the dash contours exactly so they are not difficult to position. The instructions include an optional step of misting the bottoms of the panels with water prior to adhering them. I did so, and I think it helped the adhesive strips not to stick until I applied pressure after I had the panels exactly where I wanted them.

Everything looks great. I'm very happy with the "light bamboo" (which looks more like maple than bamboo) and bisque interior. Gives a nice touch without overdoing it. I wasn't sure how I'd like the recessed appearance of the switches, but it looks fine.

I'm surprised at the "striped" graywood. I also thought it would look more like what Lexus calls "dark gray bird's-eye maple." It's only plastic, so I would have thought the design would have imitated something a bit more conventional. Anyway, I'm really pleased with the kit.

Bamboo interior and Blue exterior is a killer combo.

Awesome! I just ordered the bamboo for my bisque interior. I've had my car for 4 days now and am getting leather installed Monday. My next item will be wheels.

I was feeling that the inside was feeling kind of blah to me - I'm so excited to get the wood trim installed!

    Thanks for the post.
