Will Touch Up Paint Help Me Out?

On my Magnetic Gray I had mixed results repairing scratches so I'm not going to offer any repair tips. However, generally applying touchup paint sparingly ( a little bit several times as opposed to one big glop) will improve the appearance. I used the little bottle of Toyota touch up paint & ScratchX. Good luck.

In my experience...no. When you have a spot like that on a crease its going to be hard to get the touch-up paint to bond and fill anything in, since there is no lip for the paint to collect in like there is with a chip.

I would find a detailer that does airbrush touch up and who does really good work...thats what you need for that...

 

I had a similar plastic scratch on my Tacoma and all I did was remove the excess materiel with a razor blade and then used one of the touch up paint pens I sell and filled it in. Normal touch up paint will run, but the felt tip pens I sell will adhere much better. It will not look like new but at least the black plastic will not show.

Touch up paint will make a huge difference. A black mark on silver car can be spotted from 25 feet away. If you cover it will touch up paint you will not be able to see the mark from more than 5 feet away.

If you want it done right take it to a body shop. If you want it to look way better then it is use touch up paint.

 

You may want to try Bondo Bumper Repair Kit (No.280) This is sandable and flexible. It is two part mix and material comes in a double syringe. I would start by mixing a tiny amount and applying it with something small like a toothpick. Build up the layers and then sand it smooth without sanding the surrounding paint. Then use Toyota touchup paint. You may need a couple of coats. When completely dry, use a polishing compound in that area. It should be pretty invisible after that.

 

I have what looks like a hit from a large rock on the bottom driver's side of my front bumper. Could you please tell me which touch-up paint you used? It seems to match well.

all touch up paint are really the same, just look around online.

You can just get the color code here Toyota Prius Touch Up Paint and order the paint at the dealership or online (online is cheaper, duh!)

 

Actually, with such an inexpensive item, it's probably cheaper to go to the dealer, since shipping charges would be a high % of the purchase price, and quickly offset any online price savings.
