Hello everyone. My name is Clay and I am the internet sales manager for Muller Toyota in Clinton NJ. I keep a blog at mullertoyotablog.com (not enough posts to add the link...) and found this website because someone actually mentioned my blog in a post! I want to say that the forums are great and if anyone ever has a question for someone at the dealership level, I am happy to help. Nice meeting everyone!
:welcome: As a dealer, PC can help you two ways: Read how the owners get frustrated with the Dealer's employees and help your fellow employees to NOT be that guy. You will be amazed how much the owners blame Toyota for the dealership's User Interface. Try to set realistic expectations for prospective buyers. The Prius does not emit rainbows and kittens as emissions, It really does use Gas, just less of it. Absolutely no Swedish supermodels are included, the Solar Roof option make no sense where the sun shines infrequently. An excellent example of poor communication from both Toyota and the dealers was the change from 5k oil changes to 10k oil changes on the 2010. They did ALL the right things in an order that greatly diminished the positive customer experience. http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii...l-change-interval-revised-not-yet-closed.html http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii...ally-revised-10000-miles-1-year-verified.html http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii...-revised-oci-notice-maintenance-schedule.html Tell the owners what we need to know, clearly separate your facts and your opinions, guide the disgruntled to the folks who can help them. (or are required to listen to them) The customer is not always right, but we think we are.
Thanks for the good info. I will pass it along. By the way, my dad does a 2 hour commute each way and has a 2005 Prius with 200,000 miles on it - still working like a charm - and he keeps me well informed of what his perceptions are.
Hi Clay, I wish you would have matched your competitor's price. I bought a Highlander from you in 05 and I stopped at your dealership again when shopping for my Prius. I must say that your dealership is way more professional than the "other one" where I purchased my 2010, II but the price difference was too great to pass (about $ 1700.00). Still considering servicing my new Prius at your dealership. Thanks for trying.
