I have a 2007 GenII Prius. I have done some search on this forum and hope folks can help me. Passenger headlight is going nuts again. I had the driver side replaced a year ago under warranty. Now dealership ask for $400+ to replace the bulb. 1. which brand would you recommend for the bulb? 2. I checked another thread (this forum wont' let me post the link). I found that it is very difficult to unplug the wire behind the headlight unit and I'm not sure it is actually possible to turn the hard plastic cover behind the unit. Is there another DIY guide for Gen II HID bulb replacement? 3. I don't really need to take the bumper off, right? 4. any idea on how to access the fog lights? Thanks

I bought Phillips brand, the same as stock, on ebay for about $35 dollars each. I can't say if this was a good idea or not, as compared to other brands. My original one's lasted about 3 years.
I just did this yesterday, and wrote up a how-to at: www[dot]wikihow[dot]com/Change-the-HID-Headlights-on-a-2007-Prius-%28Without-Removing-Bumper%29 (Sorry for the multiple posts... I am new on this forum and it won't let me post external links until I've made 5 posts, so I broke up my comments into separate posts... unfortunately "comments" don't count as posts.... ugh!)
Thank you for all the trouble. I recently watched a video (utube?) where a woman tech changed the bulb in a few minutes. I was impressed but didn't get the pics as well as yours. I do suspect she had small hands ! :cheer2:
It should be $150/bulb at Toyota authorized dealers. http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-ii-...toyota-will-pay-hid-repairs-i-got-letter.html Ken@Japan
