Hi all, I made a short video showing the HUD in use, which gives you a good idea of how the thing looks in motion. Its in the mode that shows speed and the HSI bar, which I find useful 'cos then I can use the MID to show something different (than the HSI) like 5min consumption. My original soundtrack (Donald Fagen) was barred by the copyright protection on YouTube (sigh) and so instead you have something rather more wistful to listen to..... EDIT got it back again using "Fair use.... statement" 'Lex' Tideland - OK I will try to do another one showing satnav directions - I need to find some way of fixing the camera to make it safe first though......... Excellent! Thanks for the video! Do you have satnav? Could you show us how the satnav instructions on the HUD operate while on the move? (I heard it shows an arrow, distance to turn and the arrow fills up as you get closer??).
I don't want to nitpik, but do you realize you were on the wrong side of the road the whole time? Luckily everyone else was too. :madgrin:
not everyone stay in the US anyway not sure if Singapore's Prius model's HUD can show the bar beneath the numbers ... 2 months and I am still considering whether I shd buy Prius or Insight...haha
Interesting. But do mount that camera to something. Especially liked the Google ad. The 2010 Chevy lineup with Onstar, Safety you can trust.
Singapore's 2010 has the same HUD setup and that includes the HSI bar. AFAIK, no LED headlights but I have seen a couple with solar roof. And please, don't fall into the marketing trap that Insight=Prius. It is NOT!
This is so cool. I wish we get the HUD here or some brave soul find a way to retrofit it on our G3s. That HSI bar helps me alot with how I modulate the accelerator in Pwr mode.
prius parallel imported has no HUD but can get solar roof...and i know insight is not = prius, just that insight is much cheaper...
It shows arrows or junction/roundabout stylised layout with distance to go countdown in numbers. As you get closer a 'dynamic' arrow shows the way you need to go.
Thanks for the sharing. I've seen it in my friend's BMW 850i and it was pretty cool gadget. Where is the line to get this to our US Prius
All Prius's in Israel have the HUD with the bar (if you so choose that display) Must other gadgets not available.
Thanks Lex. I wish that the HUD would provide more valuable information like: 1) Cop ahead behind tree with radar gun, 2) Driver in adjacent lane texting, or 3) GPS information / directions. Keith
