Hello, Just wanted to say hi to everyone. Just bought a black 2010 Prius III with Navi this past weekend. I'm glad that I found this forum since I already learned so much about the car. I almost bought the extended warranty from the dealership but I was lucky to see the Extended Warranty deal information on this forum. Thanks again.
Welcome and congratulations on your new purchase. I also have the III with Nav and am still looking for reasons to drive the car six months later.
What do you mean? You don't like the way it drives? This is a first Toyota for me and I'm actually surprised on how well it handles (not as bad as I thought).
I love the way it drives and handles. I meant that I was always looking for "excuses" to drive the car so that I can drive it more often !!
Got it. It's same for me. Since its my wife's car, I don't get to drive it as often as I would like which sucks.
Yea, my wife is always trying to come up with subtle excuses why she needs the hatchback on my car rather than driving hers. She doesn't want to come right out and say that she likes to drive my car !!
Enjoy it...and know this...with the new rules on V.O.C.'s that new car smell does not last as long as it used to...take deep breaths....
Not sure the facination with new car smell. Mine lasted for 4 months and everytime I reverse in the car I get sick and dizzy. Thank god now the smell is gone. Ofcourse I've got 4 odor Eliminator in the car at the moment to keep it fresh. I really don't like the new car smell and I certainly didn't buy a new car for the smell. When I carry friends around before and they keep saying wow new car smell I just grin.
Yeah... I'm not a big fan of that new car plastic smell either. It does make me feel a little sick after a while, so we keep our windows open in the garage hoping that the smell goes away quicker.
I just got my 2010 IV w/Solar yesterday as well. Since it has the leather, that is pretty much all I am able to smell, except for a little bit of burn-off of the oils and such on the high temperature items the first hour or so of driving.
Congrats on your purchase. Leather must be nice. I really wanted it but IV was out of our price range.
Got my IV with no packages on Friday. I still have to get used to everything! I had negative equity on my Honda, so my payments are 350, but that's what I was paying on the Honda and I'll make off better at the pump! As a teacher, I had SO much stuff packed in the back of my CRV, but the Prius took it all. Also, I've been surprised at how little of the road I actually feel. It's a little like driving a science experiment, but I'm enjoying it.
