    I am getting this warning symbol on the dadhboard, whenever there is snow fall. I searched on web but no clue. I do not have maunal since the previuos user lost it. Can anyone please tell me what this symbol is and what does that mean? (see attached file)

    My Prius is of 2005 .

    Your car is smart enough to know it's snowing ;).


    jokes aside, that's the Frost Indicator. It comes on when it's 3°C or lower to warn you that the roads may be slippery (e.g. due to black ice even at 3°C).

    You can get a hard copy of the 2005 Prius Owner's Manual from Toyota or Toyota dealers for about $16.

    You should consider registering on Toyota Owners Online. Once registered, you can access and download pdfs (broken up into sections) of your Owner's Manual, obtain your Maintenance Schedule, and get discount service coupons from a Toyota dealer in your area. Also, Toyota Owners Online has the telephone number and address of Toyota where you can buy that hard copy of the Owner's Manual for $16.

    Finally, here's a pdf of the 2007 Owner's Manual (together with a Word file of the Manual's Table of Contents). I think that almost all of this 2007 Owner's Manual will be applicable to your 2005.

    Too bad we don't have something similar on the new Prius - maybe we can just drive like as if it is not snowing or slippery???

    Never seen this symbol on my 2008 Prius. Seems to be a feature of older models.

    on the 2006-2009 Prius the MFD will give you a 5 second warning that the temperature is below 37F. After about 5 seconds the warning will go away. It will usually pop up when you start the car or while driving and the temp drops.

    It's the "Aliens are attempting to suck you out of your car" warning symbol.

    It's true, we don't get it on the dash now. Just the "Behold, Eck!" symbol on the MFD screen. Not sure where the Gen III has it.

    maybe it needs to be recalled for this..i mean the horror... terrible

    we have global warming and the prius thinks its cold outside... must be a electronic failure.
