Factory backup camera useless in rain

    The problem in this area is that for a considerable part of the year to roads are covered with crap. For at least six months out of the year my Prius looks like it has been through a salt sprayer. The other six months it is only dirty.

    Sounds like a habit the Fins do except they clean their headlights (for those without headlight washers) when they approach their vehicle.

    I do the same thing before I get into the car when it rains, but when i have to back up into my driveway, there are more drops covering the camera. Do you have any tips on what I should do?

    Have a backup cam on my Benz GL450 and it has the same issue in rain and snow.... as does my current 06 Prius, and, as did my Grand Cherokee. So I think it's common.
