Hello, I had my Treo 650 working fabulously with the Prius, and I love them both. However, over the past 2 weeks or so, I get the "Blue tooth connection failed" message. It sometimes will be successful after I have been driving awhile, and it works if I turn the phone on while the car is on. But is used to connect when the phone was off. Has anyone else had this problem and/or does anyone know how to fix it. I don't think I changed anything in either the phone or car settings. Thanks so much!
First, I'll preface by saying that I don't have the bluetooth package in my Prius, but I know alot about palmOne devices. A couple of things you may want to try. 1. Soft reset the phone. Click here for soft reset instructions 2. Remove the trusted pairing from the phone and recreate it. Click here for instructions. 3. Make sure you have the latest version of the ROM on the phone. Click here for the Sprint ROM Updater Glenn
I know this is pretty late for a reply for you, but if you are still having a problem, this is what I discovered. I would leave it trusted device, but you will also want to leave it discoverable, both of these are Treo 650 options. I also find that I need to sometimes (like once a month) reselect the phone on the prius MFD, by using the settings select phone device menu option.
