I did something similar when I got black grease all down the back of my windbreaker, then sat in the car the next day. The entire driver's side seat back was smeared with black grease - I almost cried .

Luckily a combination of alcohol, water, ivory soap, and some cleaner that borrowed off of Frank Hudon did the job and cleaned the seat almost as good as new. The few remaining marks are nearly invisible and can't be seen with the texture of the seat fabric.

Depends - there are two kinds of dirt - light dirt which is attracted to dark cars and dark dirt which is attracted to light cars

That's one of the reasons that silver & bronze (Driftwood Pearl in my case) are popular, they tend to do a good job of masking the road dust between washes.

Well actually we were at a diner in upstate new york (off 22) after Grey Fox Bluegrass festival (which my car sat parked for 3 days surrounded by people partying (i.e. drinking) and not a scratch. Then the dent happened during breakfast on our way back to CT so no go finding the guy, the only downside to no scratches is that there is no paint on his/her fender.

Huge parking lot, 3 cars plus mine HOW THE 43!! do you do that?

Oh and besides that I am now fighting lyme disease picked up at the festival, the back of my knee is nice and purple from the bite.

So I would officially like to change my wish to "I wish I hadn't taken me and my prius to the Bluegrass festival.......Nah it was all worth it."

Well it is not something to take lightly and certainly can get serious, it is rather common here in CT. I think, generally, if caught early enough, from what I have read (and going through), it is like a 3 day flu and 21 days of antibiotics.

I wish I hadn't let my 20 yr old son drive my Prius. He left the parking brake on and drove about 5 miles, including interstate. Back tires were smoking when he arrived back. When asked why he didn't notice the car "dragging" he said he thought that was a "hybrid" thing.

ooh thats a rookie mistake... almost everyone i know has done that to a car in the past, but its usually an old junker cause they are 17 and just got a car for 1500 dollars i hope everything is okay with your car!

Something similar happened to me in a parking garage. It was full, so I had to park in these extra spaces on the end facing the wrong way, making backing out difficult. Of course when I did it, someone was RIGHT THERE waiting for the spot so I couldn't see. I had backed out and basically stopped when that last bump back when you floor the brake nudged the rear corner of the bumper against the wall.

I have some small scratches, and there was some yellow paint from the wall which I scrubbed off, but the sponge I used left a bit of abrasion on the surface of the paint too, which can be seen in the right light.

Does touch-up paint work on bumpers? I was going to put some on but the shade looked totally different.

 

touch up paint does work on bumpers and you will find that because they are plastic, paint will chip much easier because of the flexiblity of the surface

 

Some of the aftermarket touch up paint brands offer touch up paint specifically formulated for flexible plastic panels.
