    Helloa.

I noticed the other day that my ECO bar looks more like two bars going left to right with a horizontal separation at the mid way point (instead of looking like one bar going left to right). Can anyone tell me if this is normal or I have a bum display?

Sorry for the poor quality of the photo. I'm losing detail uploading it to the web.

    Thanks!

This is 100% right. The mid point (where it changes "shade") is when the gas engine kicks on ... if you stay to the left, it will stay in EV mode.

I think OP is referring to what looks like a row of dead pixels, not the column where the color changes.

You look OK to me, Richard--it's what my display looks like.

fuzzy1's point about looking like a row of dead pixels--yeah, I have some separation between the left and right halves too.

I do not know, looks fine to me, I don't see anything out of the ordinary.

Yes, I am taking about the "gap" in between the two horizontal "power bars" that go left to right in the ECO area. In all the illustrations in the owners manual they appear as if they are one thick bar but in my car they look more like two bars moving together.

Sorry for confusing my original post by using the term "mid-point" I can see where some people would think I was talking about the transition between the two colored areas.

I'm relieved that others see this in their cars and that it is apparently normal. :D

    Thanks all for your input!

Looking closer at mine today, there is a slight gap but it is too narrow to be a row of dead pixels. It seems likely related to the layout or fabrication of the display elements, causing a slightly wider pixel gap there than elsewhere.

Oh I see on the original picture! LOL. I'll take a look at mine .... but I think it's just due to the manufacturing process also.

BTW guys, I'm very sorry about the poor quality of the photo. The line is clearly visible to me in real life. After the upload the photo is so distorted that you can hardly see the space between "upper" and "lower" bars.

I see this on my display too. I think it is normal and just means Toyota isn't perfect in their display engineering. It is good to note that others are as 'picky' as I can get over engineering imperfections. My last one on the car is why Toyota didn't design a reuseable plastic clip receptacle for the back seat bench front fasteners? It boggles my mind.
