    1. Keep forgetting where the gas cover release lever is located.

    2. When asked how fast I am going, I keep answering in MPG instead of MPH.

    3. Kids want to drive Pruis to show off, leaving parents with the Porche/BMW/Mercedes or some other clunker.

    4. Cannot use valet parking since wife would rather eat than listen to another hybrid technology description.

    5. Labeled as Earth-Saving, Global Warming Fighting, Eco-Warrior just for driving to work.

    6. Chick magnet.* (Problem if happily married, otherwise only 9 serious problems.)

    7. Cannot start rental cars on first attempt. Must..... hold..... key ....in....start.

    8. Have to put up with faulty cost analysis of hybrid vs. non-hybrid....over and over and over.

    9. Being in the slow lane behind a big wind plowing truck is enjoyable?! (and being passed by SUVs is orgasmic??!!)

    10. Nightmares of showing up at the class reunion with no clothes has been replaced by "!" in triangle nightmares.

(* Geek magnet mentioned as problem from wife)

When I first saw the title I thought, "Ugh. Another person that just doesn't get it." To my surprise it is a great list.

PS: A valet at a Seattle restaurant made sure even --before-- I asked that he knew what a Prius was and how to use the key. Apparently us Prius users weren't sure. :)

I don't have kids old enough to drive yet, but #3 is my wife and I for sure. We used to take the Mercedes when we were going out for dinner or somewhere nice. Now, we take the Prius. I've had a lot more people ask me about the Prius at dinner parties than I have about the Benz.

Honest to God....at the gas stations. I didn't say a lot of chicks. Just give it time.

You left out my biggest problem - you always have to remember to take out your physical key to enter your home.

Or the office. I actually smacked into my office door the first few mornings after driving to work ! I guess I expected it to just unlock as I reached to open it up  !

On #6 your wife is correct...it's a geek magnet rather than a hunk magnet for us ladies...bummer...

    I loved the list...especially #7!

Exactly. Keys seem like such an inconvenience now that you know they're no longer necessary.

    # 1/2 Boredom when driving a non-Prius. Where's the challenge in that?? No MFD. No mpg game.

Actually, driving a non-Prius, especially on start-up, I feel like I'm in something from the age of steam locomotives. All aboard !!!!!

Actually - hunk guys are approaching- I was at a function at a golf course and had a long discourse about the Prius with a nice looking guy- who by the way was going to trade in an SUV for a Prius.....even they "get it" ...
Also at gas stations- the rare time you get to go to one...grin.

#5 for me has been replaced with "Do you know that you are driving a "liberal car"?
