Im sure this has already been asked but is there a chance the venza will have a hybrid version. I know they've said most models will have a hybrid version in the future. I would soon like to purchase a suv/cuv hybrid but there aren't really many choices. And certainly none that perform remarkably better then their non hybrid counter-parts.

I really don't want to go gm, but honestly the equinox is looking the best.

But the Equinox isn't available in hybrid, is it?

It will eventually. I recall the question being asked about the Venza and why a hybrid version wasn't launched at the same time. The response from Toyota was that this was a "new market" and that they're weren't sure how the public would respond to a vehicle such as the Venza (remember it kept a secret quite well).

I'd get a Venza Hybrid over a Camry Hybrid in an instant. It's so much more spacious than the Camry, a good sized cargo area (and given that it's a hatch/wagon type vehicle, the battery can go below the floor), the centre console has TONS of storage spaces and is very flexible in its configuration and frankly I think the Venza is quite stylish.

The only downside is the HUGE wheels. They look cool (esp. the 20" version on the V6 models) but the problem is tyre replacement and their very high price (esp. in Canada).

We're looking at the Venza also but because it can pull a trailer as well. I really don't think a hybrid version is ready until they come out with an Atkinson version of the 2.7L and/or they start making them in Japan.

The only car that I know that is made in japan and is sold in only ONE country is the Scion tC (soon to be two countries). It's rare that they do that. The Venza is a Canadian/American vehicle only so it makes sense to be built here for local consumption.

The next hybridized engine will most likely be the 2AR 2.5 litre. That should do well in the Camry, RAV4, Venza and Sienna as well as the ES.

I bought a Venza for my wife about three weeks ago. It's a great car! We got the 4 cylinder version and it has plenty of power to get up the grades here in California. I'd highly recommend this car to anyone.

That would be a great idea. Put the Hylander hybrid engine in it and you are good to go!
I love the look of the Venza. I wouldn't mind a more fuel efficient version of that vehicle.

Venza actually grew on me once I actually saw it in the sheetmetal. I thought it was a hideous joke at first but it didn't take long to change my mind. I have to admit I can say the same for the new Prius, new Insight and Crosstour too.

Before we bought the Venza a few weeks ago, we test drove at least 6 cars of that type, including the Chevy Equinox, Honda, Subaru, and others. I really wanted to try to buy American if I could. The Equinox looked great, until I took it out on the freeway. The car just didn't feel safe or solid .... AT ALL. I was really dissappointed as I really liked other features of the car. But, compared to the Venza, the Equinox felt like a shaky, tin can. There was no way I'd feel good knowing my wife would be driving that car. I'll take safety over a few mpg saved any day of the week. Hence, we bought the Venza.

There are no news of Toyota making a Hybrid for Venza. The 2012 model of Venza is all set. We have to see in future.

My husband and I were ready to buy a hybrid, but hard to buy something that we don't absolutely love and fits our needs. We love the gas mileage and the cargo space in the PriusV but not the ride, it is not exciting to drive. Love the ride and power in the Camry Hybrid but not the gas mileage or the space. We will be waiting until we see the Venza in a Hybrid model. We would be willing to give up a few MPGs for the ride. For now I will drive my 2000 Celica getting 32.2 MPGs for a few more years.
