I'm looking to purchase a Prius this coming weekend, while the sales are hot at our local dealer, but I can't decide which model to go with?

I really like the sound system and blue tooth option available for the III, however, they don't have the Blizzard White like I really want. They only have the Blue Ribbon Metallic, which I don't mind—but the Blizzard White does look really good.

Should I choose model over color (vise-versa)? Please help me

go to more than 1 dealer -- or just email them -- take your time and the get the color AND options you want so you won't regret it later.

altho they'll probably discount a car MORE if you act like you don't want it.

I agree—I feel though if I just don't care whichever one I want they'll give me a "better" incentive, rather than ordering one they don't have one on the lot. Just not sure if the JBL speaker system and the bluetooth is worth the extra $900

    The blue of course! ;)

Actually I agree with bagwell. Take your time and get a car you love.

    Happy hybrid hunting!

I had sort of the same dilemma. I wanted a white or silver exterior with the dark gray
interior. Every dealer only had the light gray interior in stock. I waited and got what I wanted in a vehicle. If you want white but like the JBL, wait and get a white III with JBL.
New car fever can be hard to repress but get what makes you happy.

I had been cyber-shopping for a 2010 Prius since last Oct. I thought I knew which colors I preferred until I saw them in person. I agree that the Blizzard Pearl shows very well on the lot. I saw an ad for 0% financing on Prius 2010 on Feb. 13 and went
straight to the dealer and purchased a Blue Ribbon Prius with a solar roof. I liked the
blue, sandy beach and the blizzard. They only had one with a solar roof which was blue, so I chose that one. I had never seen a 0% finance offer on a Prius and I don't know if it is offered in your area. There will certainly be plenty Prius'
available in the future, but some of the incentives may only last for a few days, so you need to consider your personal financial situation. If they have a Prius with all
of the features you want except its not your preferred color, you may want to consider it if you can get an incentive. The JBL system /Bluetooth is very nice to have. Good luck, you'll be getting a great car regardless of its color !

Remember, you're gonna live with this car for a few years so make sure it's the colour and combination you like!

Personally, I think the JBL and bluetooth is worth it. You do get a CD Changer (so you can load multiple MP3 CDs) as well as bluetooth handsfree (so you don't have to wear an earpiece)

Keep in mind that Toyota is very close to coming out with new incentives and possibly longer warranty, if you aren't in desperate need right now, it might be good to wait a few weeks, get the car you want, better warranty, and more incentives probably.

Model -- it's easier to come to like a color than regret not having a feature. Best yet, as others have said, is to look around to satisfy both. Dealers can also request a car from another dealer -- I don't know the details on their side, but I've done this a couple times.

My Blue Ribbon always looks dirty; we live on a dirt road in remote NE Oregon! Think I'd go w/ Sandy Beach if I had it to do over again as that is the closest to dirt color. White probablly would be just a bit better than the blue for showing dirt. Go with the package you really want!!!

It shouldn't need to choose color vs option today. Don't listen to the sales demand the color and options you want/need and let them to get it. If I were you get to the bottom on the price with them first and ask them to get you exactly the color you want and if they say no, just walk and I am sure they will call you back soon. Supply and demand, it is buyer market for Toyota today!

Thanks for all of your responses!

After reading all of your comments and much deliberative thinking today, I have to decided to go with the Blue Ribbon Metallic and get the Prius III.

I don't think I can live knowing that a color over-powered the options that I could have had.

A 2010 Toyota Prius III - Blue Ribbon Metallic it is! This will be my 2nd Toyota I've ever owned. The first one was a 2000 Toyota Echo, which I wrecked three months after hitting a Ford F350 Super Duty at 33MPH.

    Nice choice! ;)

How did that fair? I'm sure people want to know (you know.. small car vs. big truck). Clearly, you walked away from it.

That's a good choice man, I really hope you enjoy your new car! However, I have the II Blizzard Pearl/white and I have to say that I absolutely love it. I like the blue color too, but I stuck with the white color. I liked it more and that's all they had left.

We got the last one on the lot at a local dealer in the C4C program. We really lucked out, it was a IV with nav, Barcelona Red, Bisque leather.

I would go with the IV to get the leather. And everyone knows Barcelona Red is the fastest color and gets the best gas mileage. ;)

Blue. That was my second choice of color if I didn't get black (then silver would've been 3rd). The blue color really pops out and it's eye catching, but in a subtle way. Very clean & classy looking without going too bold (like with red).

Blizzard Pearl white is nice, but like others have said, you see them everywhere and it's getting boring to see on the road. But the main reason is because it looks like a regular white car on the road. Even though it's a pearl paint, you don't really notice it unless you're right up next to the car, or if the car is sparkling clean in the bright sun and driving next to you. Otherwise, I drive by a bunch of 2010 BP white Prius cars all the time on the streets in LA and they never look 'pearl' under the light, but more plain white looking from a car's length of distance.
