$28,000 is a lot of $. 7 years is a long time. Do you want this? Lease is a tricky consideration. NOW you want out in one year and you are faced with this payment for seven years?
I just bought a 2009 Package 2 Prius with 27,500 miles from Hertz's Rent2Buy program. I hadn't seen anyone post on this site about any experiences with Rent2Buy, so I knew I was taking a little risk in dealing with this outfit, but I think the price I got was good: Pricing Details Selling Price: 16500.00 Less Discount: 250.00 Dealer Processing Fee: 199.00 Title/Registration Fee: 222.50 Total Taxable Amount: 16250.00 Salt Lake, UT, Sales Tax (On applicable items): 966.88 Total Price of Vehicle: 17638.38 I just signed the papers yesterday, finally. I do have some things to say about my mixed (both good and bad) Rent2Buy experiences, however. Basically, I never felt like they were trying to milk more money out of me. I never even felt like they were "selling" me at all. On the downside, they've only been in business since July '09, and they don't fully have their act together, yet. I'll post about that separately.
Newbie here. Some advice on pricing please: Looking at getting the 2010 Prius II. They've having a 5 year 0% APR this weekend and I sent in a price request email to my local dealer. He called back and left a message not saying the actual price, but stated that they're selling for invoice price this weekend. Looking around, sites say the invoice is $21,432. If this dealer is offering at invoice by phone then they're likely receiving some factory to dealer incentive or holdback money. In other words, there should still be some negotiating room here. Can you recommend where I could find out this info, or more directly, any suggestions on what a fair offer would be that the dealer would consider? Thanks
I just bought a black 2010 Prius III last week with carpeted mats and the rear bumper applique. The MSRP was $24,419 and I paid $22,300 from Boch Toyota in Norwood, MA just outside of Boston.
Purchased a 2010 Prius IV with Navigation Pkg, V.I.P. Security Upgrade, and 5-piece carpeted mats for $28,471.25 out the door price at Koon's Arlington Toyota in Northern Virginia. Bruno Garcia did not pressure me or call me dozens of times. I showed the general manager a spread sheet with the invoice prices minus the holdback and floor pan fee. The only heartburn was Toyota's Dealer Advertising fee of $496. But this was the only thing the dealer would not budge on. All of the dealers I contacted had the exact same cost and they said this was a regional charge that all the dealers had to pay to Toyota for advertising. Base & Options $27,528.35 3% VA Tax $ 825.85 Business License Tax $ 54.30 Tags, Title, Registration $ 62.75 No processing fee listed at $389.00
2010 prius II Leather upgrade, floor mats, vehicle sheild, Silver 22400 without TT&L bought in South East Louisiana.
I got my Blizzard Pearl Pkg V with Navigation, Cargo organizer, and mats for 28k before TT&L in the Bay Area. The dealers are really looking to move them.
Did you also price Pkg V with the ATP? I assume you just got the Nav option. Do you think prices in the Bay Area are better than in the Los Angeles area? Thanks for posting
Just got quoted $300 over Dealer Invoice on a Package IV w/ Solar Roof in Florida...think I'll pull the trigger on the deal tomorrow.
Got a Prius 2010 Trim II today for $21941.40, including dealer fees. Haven't done taxes, registration, all that yet, since I bought it across the state line. That price includes cloth floormats, door edge guards, the back bumper coating thing, and nitrogen filled tires, but only because that's what they had in stock. Overall, I think I did reasonably well. (And not just because the guys at the dealership said so; they probably always say that!) I have to give quite a bit of thanks to this forum; it helped tremendously with research and going to the dealership prepared. The crappy weather we're having today probably helped too. Dealers probably don't get many customers on days with ugly slushy precipitation.
Blizzard White Prius III with Nav package, floor mats, and leather for 25000 purchased new today in New Orleans.
PRIUS III no other options. 22658 plus tax. Buying it on Thursday from Dar Toyota in Rockville Maryland. Check out the cars they have on Auto Trader. You can steal one from them with no hassle.
