Prius owners stay loyal thru all problems...

I already replied to that with my perceptions/feelings on it.

 

I think toyota is fine however I would not want to be a stockholder at this time....

 

My 08 has no problems that I've noticed. If I had a 10, I would be concerned about the brakes--though Consumer Reports hasn't detected any problems I know of. I wonder why the brakes in the 10 are any different than those in the earlier models.

I think there is something to the American media trying to knock Toyota down a peg, to make the American cars more competitive. Honda isn't as big, and so not as an attractive a target.

 

For me, the case is very simple. I don't care what others say or what some media are screaming - I have plenty of my own experience with my Prius, its bakes, floor mats and gas pedal. And that experience tells me clearly - *There is nothing wrong with the car*. The floor mats are safe when clipped as they are supposed to be. The brakes work fine - maybe they feel a little unusual when braking across a pothole or something and require a little adjusting to, but no big deal. I never had a problem with gas pedal, or any "unintended acceleration" for that matter. Therefore, I still have every confidence in the car.

Otherwise - the car is extremely reliable, versatile, roomy, comfortable, fun to drive (for me - and yes, I *am* a geek ), gets splendid gas mileage...

To sum it up - this is by far the best car I've ever had, period. So, am I a loyal Toyota customer? Yes, of course - because my very own experience is my determining factor, not any short-lived media hystery. I never regretted buying that car, and I can hardly imagine I ever will. I would get another in a hearthbeat. So, should I be looking for another car in the future, Toyota will be high on my shopping list, that's for sure.

 

I've had my 2010 for 8 months and no problems. Loved my 2005 but I wanted the Gen III and I do not regret owning either car. The Prius fits my lifestyle.

 

I'm a stock holder and it's doing fine. I have an 06 which thankfully has no problems. For the most part Toyota handled the problem ok. I think the problem with Toyota is they grew too fast .
The media is just doing their job but has gone a little overboard on the issue. Let's face it we should be informed when there is a safety problem no matter what the brand is. FishHawk

 

I've owned nothing but Toyota's since 1972. It would take an awful lot to change my mind about the car or the company. I think much of this is fueled by media hysteria. All car manufacturers have recalls and no one quits driving their cars because of it. If its recalled, take it to the dealer, get it fixed, and keep driving it. People don't get rid of their cars because they are recalled. Its impractical to do so and costly as well.

 

I absolutely love my '05 Prius which now has 130K miles on it and still going strong. I hope it keeps on ticking until it has over 200K miles on. No doubt in my mind at all I will replace it with another Prius.

 

It is important to note that this is not blind loyalty or the perverted kind where one stays loyal despite abuse.

Many of us are "loyal" to our cars or even the brand because we encounter very little, if any, problems with the vehicles. So why would we stop liking our vehicles? Because the media tells us we should? Too many sheep in this country IMO.
