Learning our new Prius....the gps seems slow to respond to commands....we have to come to a stop to program it....and stopping the prius seem's to be an issue also...close to having "BUYERS REMORSE"
Having seen the reaction to the braking situation on this board, I now understand why Toyota thinks we are all too stupid to drive and use the GPS at the same time. All Toyota vehicles (Lexus too) require the vehicle to be stopped before you can input a request to the Navi unit or telephone. You can use voice commands. RTFM! It is in there, I just have a thing about reading manuals or asking for directions. I would rather not. If you want, you can buy an aftermarket fix which requires you to install it after you remove most of the dash and costs about $250 which permits you to input information and make inquiries while moving.
