The fishing was probably more dangerous than the smoking. He also had a pulmonary embolism while fishing which I don't think smoking is a large contributing factor. Maybe the embolism was more a factor in the stroke than the smoking. Who knows? Anyway he was also into Corvettes and a car guy.
