First, is it true that Toyota dealers can now install Sirius in the Prius that works with the touch screen? Second, I'm getting AUX2CAR installed this week. This of course hooks into the CD changer port. Will this prevent me from being able to get Sirius? I have an option #4, single CD, no cassette, no Nav. Thanks!
Hey, Yeah, you can get Sirius installed in your Prius. I got it installed at Radio Shak. We have the system and its nice. There is a problem with the positioning of the system; if you're going to put it on the dashboard with a windsheild mount, you'll need to place it lower so you can increase visibility (but that's obvious). I don't know where else to mount it. Ummmm, a while ago the multi-information touch screen stopped responding to touch - I'm not sure if I can attribute the Sirius to the malfunction. Yep, it's available through a PriusChat sponsor, too! http://priuschat.com/forums/sirius-satelli...ighlight=sirius
[font=Arial:6e1eda4576] I have a Sirius Starmate radio, and it works fine in my 2005 Pkge #6. The little storage tray just below the CD changer holds it nicely, with no need to put the mobile suction cup mount on the windshield. I suppose I could pay hundres of dollars to have one permanently mounted and wired into the touch screen, but then my wife couldn't use it in her 2003 Prius and I couldn't take it into my office and use it during the day. Hanging wires are a bit distracting, but I suppose if I worked on running things under the carpet, they'd look fine.
