This screw suddenly appeared on my driver's side floorboard. I looked around under the seat and dash but nothing looked like it was missing a screw. It has an 8mm or 5/16" screw head, with a flat head screw driver head in addition. Length is just short of 1.5 inches. It is blue and has a sharp pyramid shaped tip. Any ideas?
Looks like a concrete screw to me- I suspect it was in the tread of a shoe and got left behind in the car. I doubt it's from the car given the worn surfaces on it.
Looking at the blue being worn off around the edge of the head my guess would be that it was on the ground somewhere and rode in to your car on the bottom of your shoe. But, that's just a WAG on my part...
Yours is quite worn and has a hex head vice countersink w/flat top as shown. (Excellent product, BTW, produced in the US of A,)
I heard that Toyota just put a recall out on the Prius with Blue Hex Head Concrete Screws found on the floorboard.
