I've spoken with Steve Knickerbocker at Conicelli Toyota in Springfield several times. He's been great to deal with and is selling Prii at MSRP. Unfortunately, he didn't have what I was looking for, but I recommend him for you short list of area dealers. If you call him, tell him Brian sent you. Faulkner Toyota, just across the Philly line in Trevose, PA is selling at MSRP. They list their inventory on their web site and advertise no wait to buy. They always have a few in stock and demo and sell them about as quickly as they come in (and they do come in). Got mine today. They had put my name on an allocated car of my color preference and had it in within a week. Nice folks. Go there. Ask for Patty Kleber who handles their internet contacts. Or just click to her when you check their Prius inventory on the web.
I was able to get the color and option package (AM) at Champion Toyota in Northeast Philly for $1000 under MSRP. Lou Shanihan did a great job of finding the car in just a few days after another dealer had sold a car out from under me. Very competent and hard working - I highly recommend him.
It's good to know someplace near NJ is selling them under MSRP. They certainly won't budge on price at Morristown Toyota in NJ. Might just have to go to Champion Toyota in Philly.
I ended up going to Conicelli Toyota in Conshohocken last night and putting down a deposit. Based on their webpage, they seemed to have the most cars on the lot, including the exact color and option package I wanted. Of course by the time I got there it was sold, but they did have a number of Prius on the lot, and I could have had the BC option package I wanted in Black or White, or my second choice color with a different option package. Their Springfield location also had the car I wanted, so if it's still there I can get it probably early next week, or failing that, likely off the 7/21 boat arriving, which would be the end of the month. Paid MSRP, but got more for my trade-in than I had been expecting them to offer.
Conicelli Toyota actually got my Prius in on Saturday, so I was able to pick it up this weekend. Ended up buying the extended warranty from them as well; it was cheaper than the deal through PriusChat. I didn't have to tell them anything for the cheap warranty either... During the discussions in their business office, they told me the list price on the plan, paused a moment (presumably to see if I'd say "Wow! I'll take it!"), and then said my cost would be the lower rate.
We got ours Thursday at Carousel Toyota in West Chester. It was at MSRP. The whole process from picking out color/options to pickup was a week. We put down the deposit on Friday and picked it up the following Thursday. They were very low pressure on the extended warranty. The price is too high ($1200ish) so if we buy it, we'll do it through the Priuschat deal. But we didn't have to face a finance guy - it was just our salesman who mentioned that the warranty was available and what the price was and then he tossed the info into our bag-o-stuff to read later. Carousel includes 2 free oil changes a year for as long as you own the car. That's a nice bennie. We bought a Corolla from them in '01 and have been happy with their service - that's why we went there even though Springfield is quite a bit closer. Karl B. Drexel Hill
I am gettting my 05 Prius from Cherry Hill Toyota. They said that they never charge more than MSRP. I ordered it at the beginning of Sep. and it just hit the dock (not literally!!) this morning. I should have it in 10 - 14 days
Bought Lola'05 in July from Conicelli Springfield for MSRP. Got her one month later, as promised. Negotiated a good price for the 7 year/75000 Platinum at $740.00. The first price quoted was 1200. I feel if you can't negotiate the price then work on the car loan and the extended warranty. Negotiating is the fun part.
Good for you. My experience with Conicelli was not so good. Things went along fine until they sold the car out from under me. After that, they weren't really interested in keeping me as a customer and made various efforts to get me to drop the deal, which I eventually did. They would rather have an unhappy non-customer than an unhappy customer giving them a bad review or make any effort to repair a broken relationship.
