Well I really tried to buy a '10 VW Diesel Sportswagen, but the dealer wanted an extra $2500 "It's-so-popular-we-can-charge-more" fee, so the wife and I walked out and went down the street and bought an '07 Prius with 25K miles. (BTW, screw you University VW) We now have an '05 and an '07 in the car hole. This raises an interesting question: You know the effect where you only really notice other versions of your car once you buy one? So what happens when you already have that car? I guess I will start to only notice cars that are the same color as mine now. On the good side, very little learning curve to master as the two cars are more or less alike. Cheers, Mi3ke
My family has 2 Priuses too. Red 2006 and Gray 2009. Sometimes I like to park next to each other. Looks awesome.
i have yet to go around, take pictures, and then share them on here. ( i will ) there are many houses in san jose ( south sf bay area ) that have 2 prii in the driveway. I even know of a few houses that have 3 or 4 ( two in garage, two out) i'll get pics when i can.
You know where I live or something? Family down the street has 3 Priuses. Another down the street has three. My sister calls it a Yuppie car. She says she hates the Prius. I will fight her.
... wait.. it is a yuppy car... and the bay area is full of them (yuppies and prii) lol as for where you live.. i'll keep that a secret. along with my secret hiding spot where i sit out and drewl over your cars. it's crazy how many are around here now. too bad i'm no longer really active as the s.f. bay area moderator. i should get into that again.. meet ups with picnics... bbq.. wine... stiffening plate and ev installs.. ah.. fun times..
We have two 2009s, a base and a touring. Although the first Prius was purchased for practical reasons*, the second replaced a pretty new Lexus just because we preferred the Prius. We couldn't be more pleased with them. (*We're retired. Our new summer and winter homes are smaller and, naturally, have smaller garages. The Priuses leave ample room for tools, bikes, golf gear, scooters etc.)
well gee, i have 2, but they are far far far from being the same. and other than a highway capable EV with a 100 mile range, there is no better option for us
I've seen enough 2- and 3-Explorer households, so it is good to see more 2-Prius households cropping up.
Yup me too.. we got a silver 03' (wifes now but I used to drive it) and a blue 06' mine. Actually we sold her Plymouth Neon to justify my 06! Deep down I think she got jealous of me only going to the gas station maybe twice a month.. Go figure.
I wouldn't mind being a 2 prii owner, but the damned '88 Corolla is still getting excellent mileage and refuses to die!
I have a 2005 and want a Prius I 2000. Here is one for $9000.- http://www.autoscout24.ch/BigImages/624/76/6247657.jpg
Nice. What's funny is that even if we took 2 Prii on a road trip to carry 6 people instead of our minivan, we'd still use less fuel. - D
We are a two Prius family too with the same colors! My 2010 is Barcelona Red and my wife's is a 2008 Charcoal Gray. Since we're both Ohio State grads, Scarlet and Gray works quite well when they're parked next to each other. :tea: My wife was the brave one who bought the first Prius and I found that I liked her car so much that I bought my own 2010 in August. Even though we live in Ohio we bought both cars at Molle Toyota in Kansas City because they treated her so well when the Prius was in very short supply in central Ohio and the local dealers thought they could treat customers like scum. I didn't even consider a local dealer when I bought mine. Tom
3 prii and counting here... We just became a 3 Prii family, with the addition of my 2011 Blizzard Pearl Four. Husband has an older one bought used because it came with HOV stickers, and oldest son has a blue one, don't know the year of either. Husband plans to get a new 2012 and pass his down to our daughter. Since I met my husband well over 30 years ago, this is the first non-BMW he's owned. I had 3 VW's in a row, 2 Eurovans (we still have one, for those occasions when we all travel together) and a Touareg, daughter drives a Beetle and middle son, an Audi. There's much I love about VW's, but in my experience their service is the. worst. ever. Lately it was costing me >$100 per fill-up. Uncle! There are *so* many Prii on the road here...I've been saying they were about to revoke my L.A. citizenship if I didn't convert. All good now . Happy motoring! Kim
