The car is all back together so and loathed to dismantle to take pics. As a guideline there are 5 points within the interior which would be vulnerable to flood and would give an very good idea of the water level penetration. The nav and amp connections are easily apparent and easy to note any damage by simply removing the connectors. The reversing camera connector is situated under the carpet on a right hand drive car under the passenger seat in a similar location to the nav connections. This is perhaps the weakest link as it is a shielded connector [I think] which requires the connector to be immaculate to function properly as it has a low signal voltage rather than a 12v feed etc. I ended up removing a splicing the wires as I could not see any real reason for the connection? The bundles at the base of both a pillars give the best indication of how high the water entered the car as most of them are vertical.

The key from my experience for any flood damage car would be however dry outed you think it might be it is NOT. You do need to remove the seats and interior and check every connection BEFORE even thinking about turning the ignition on or trying to start it. Trust me remove the battery and go through systematic checks of every connection.

If I am every in Bristol will get in contact will be spending 3 days in Swindon in September.

    Regards

    Nick

    Nick,

I'm so glad it all got fixed. It must have been really stressful having a car without any recourse and refund options if it didn't get working again. Well done you!

Yes! Do let me know when you're down. Perhaps we could have a PC meet? There seem to be more than a few members in this area!

    Best,

    Nikki.

As reported on another Prius forum I have a C1377 code and yellow brake symbol on dash. According to Google only 2 other people have ever had this code. One was due to a crashed car that damaged the Brake Control Power unit and then yours.

I also have had trouble with water ingress into car, but only in wells in boot especially under battery so not nearly as serious as yours. The water source has yet to be found. As your codes were caused by water I wonder if water is causing my code and if you can help me. Especially can you give me clues as to exactly which connectors I should be checking and location, e.g. which A pillar?

Do you think my code/dash symbol will go away immediately I clear the fault? Or will it stay until reset via diagnostics connector?

    My car is a UK ‘04 NWH20 T Spirit.
