Hello guys I did a search on alarm and read about it, but got a bit confused. If we do the "dance" (click), then we don't have to go to the dealer to have the passive alarm enable with the scan tool? Another question, if the alarm is armed and we used the small key in the fob to open the door (let say when the fob is out of battery), will the alarm go off? Thanks in advance! Scott
No dance for the alarm system. I assume that is so Toyota can charge for the option and get away with it at least some of the time.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(tomdeimos\";p=\"106628)</div> No dance? DanMan uploaded the "dance" insturction to turn the passive on. http://priuschat.com/forums/download.php?id=1104
Sorry I misunderstood. I remember the passive mode on off has a dance Dan Man posted. I was thinking "enabling the alarm" which needs the scanner. Probalbly because mine is still off, and will be till I can get a scanner.
So... if I didn't have the passive turn on, the alarm should be armed 30 sec. after I lock the doors? Any experts out there have the answer? Thanks!
Does anyone know if there is an easy way to disable the passive alarm temporarily for valet or other occassions that you do not want the car to lock while the keys are in it? Or does the car not arm if the key is in the car? ScottY...It looks like you can choose whether you want it to arm either 0, 14 or 30 secs after the last door is closed. Although I have not tried it myself so I cannot testify to the accuracy of the "dance".
I don't think the car will lock by itself. But if you have the passive turned on, it will armed the alarm by itself after certain time like you said. But I haven't have time to try the "dance" yet.
So when it says it will automatically arm you don't think that includes locking? Does anyone know for sure? Thanks.
According to what other "experts" on this forum said, the car will only arm the alarm but will not lock the doors. More details can be found here at the "supressing all beeps" thread http://www.priuschat.com/forums/suppressin...highlight=alarm
