I have a 2010 Prius V... Today I waited till the fuel gauge was flashing the last little pip and my miles to empty said 0 (I was actually 20 miles past that point). When I filled up the pump only read 9.1 gallons - I was able to stand and nurse it up to 11.1 but what size tank does this thing really have...
The fuel gauge reading empty does not mean that the tank is really empty. The only way to know that the tank is empty is to run out of gas, and even then there is some unusable fuel in the bottom of the tank. The gross capacity of your tank is 11.9 gallons. Usable will be slightly less than that, but close on the Gen III. Tom
There are threads about this ongoing, that it is typical when the flashing starts to have about 2.1 gallons left. The tank is 11.9 gallons as Tom mentioned. It is a regular tank now, compared to the 'bladder' tank that the Gen II had in the US.
