I ordered 3 things a month ago -- no EMAIL verification of the order. I've sent 3 EMAIL's since - no response.

I just called and someone answered. She told me they actually do have my order and are backordered.

I don't mind if someone is backordered. Or just busy. But I have little tolerance for using their preferred method of communications and be ignored when I'm a cash-in-hand customer. This market needs some competition.

I hope the technology is better than their cusomter relations. It couldn't be any worse.

    Regards,
    Kevin in Oh-hi-o <><<

Wow. They sent me the wrong item. I ordered the Nav enchancement kit and I got the electric mode kit? Not cool. So thanks to those of you who offered to buy it off of me, but now I am stuck with this electric mode kit. Why would I want that? I am NOT taking apart my dash. $45 anyone?

You don't have to. It's just the right vent, and glovebox and lower plastic piece. They're very easy to remove and reinstall. I had the same reluctancy that you had before it arrived.

I'm STILL waiting for my EV Kit and Power Outlet Mod. According to UPS, it was due for delivery on July 14th. No further information.

I have sent Coastal several e-mails which have been ignored. The last one let them know that I will never order from them again and their customer service sucks. My husband runs an internet based business. He is self employed selling and making spudguns and their components. ( www.spudtech.com ) You can't keep a roof over your head with crappy customer service.

BTW, I hate to see the UPS bashing. The only thing I miss about not being there any more is the pay. We ship 95% of our packages UPS with no problems. Granted, we live in Wisconsin, but 5 days is the max for most of our ground packages. Packages that have been "resealed" means one of two things,
1- Coastal reopened the box or recycled the a box they received something in
2- Coastal didn't do a good job of sealing the box and a UPS employee taped it shut to prevent losing the contents.

Why would it even go through customs? From Florida to Wisconsin?

Now that an OEM way of overriding the NAV speed disable, they may lose their NAV enhancement orders. I for one have less temptation to order it.

Now if his NAV device was $45, I might still go for it. The I Agree is anoying. But $75+? No way.

But I am not going to knock him for that. He is entitled to charge what he likes, and there's no real ethical issue there. But being unresponsive is irresponsible.

I would bet the majority of the cost is in the OEM connectors, since his is a plug-in/unplug solution. Nothing he can do abto that cost.

Back in April I ordered an EV mode kit, Nav kit, and auto door lock kit. No order confirmation.

I did get one email a few weeks later asking if I wanted to wait for all items to ship together, to which I stupidly answered yes. Time went by, and I emailed every month or so asking if my order was still active, and no response.

Then a few weeks ago I got an email notification with a tracking number for my shipment. About a week went by and the tracking showed the order hadn't been dropped off by Coastal. I emailed Coastal asking if they had shipped the order, and never got a response. But soon after that the order did get picked up by the carrier, and I received it... turns out it was just the EV kit, not the nav or lock kits.

I emailed Coastal asking if my order for the nav and lock kits were still in their system, and no response.

Finding this thread is useful, because at least I don't feel like my order has been lost. Knowing that others also ordered around the same time and haven't received their nav kits is good to know.

Since Coastal doesn't have the resources to give info on order status, please use this thread to spread the word. Anyone who receives something from them (product, email, whatever) please post what you received and when you ordered.

I too ordered the Auto Lock kit and the NAV kit back in April. I did manage to call them in July and at that time I was told that the NAV kits weren't out yet and the Auto Lock kit was on back order.

They also seemed surprised that I hadn't at least gotten the Auto Lock kit as it hadn't been on back order that long a time, and were going to call me back to confirm that my order was in their system. I haven't gotten a response yet. At least they haven't hit my credit card, so I'm not really out anything.
