    This evening I noticed there were 101 user reports in Edmunds about the 2010 Prius. Obviously, not everyone is going to be happy with every aspect so I wanted to find out and entered all data:

    I did a quick "weighted average" to see how we rate our 2010 Prius:

    97.7 - fuel economy

    94.3 - reliability

    90.6 - build quality
    90.5 - exterior design

    88.1 - fun to drive
    87.6 - interior
    86.5 - comfort
    85.7 - performance

    Edmunds info is very skewed as many posters are not owners and want to post negative comments. Even the conversations are so absurd that I rarely participate in the forums there.

    For the most part the reviews are positive. But then there are some that just baffle me to no end. Like the one on the second page that states in a nutshell poor build quality. Didn't he take it for a test drive?! Then there is the gem of a review from Melanie R. on the same page. "...sluggish starts and braking flat out frightens me." and "Mileage not much better than Cabrio because I don't drive like my grandmother." Test drive much? I have test driven it twice and if you have it in eco mode then you'll get sluggish starts but other than that I didn't notice slow starts and the braking was fine by me. I drive 70mph on Rt2 her in CT and with the rental Gen2 Prius I'm averaging 44mpg so unless you want to drive 80 or 90 then maybe you should look elsewhere for a car. These people send me into a tizzy, doesn't anybody test drive before they buy?

    Yeah some people just want to start an argument on a thread just to get people all razzed...they don't care about cars...hell the bash ALL cars even Ferrari's and drive around in a Smart car (not so smart after all)...but then there are some that are genuine and simply don't like the car and explain why...9-10 its because it cant tow...OK well if you need a car that can tow...consider the Highlander or an Escape Hybrid. Something designed for that intended purpose.

    Thanks for the post info ...
    I bought my Prius on 12/31/09, and I got a lot of the personal knowledge from this both site and the edmunds site. It gave me preparation and understanding of a hybrid, and of the little "quirks" of a smaller and lighter car than the small SUV (Santa Fe) I had for 7 years.
    Still enjoying (and adjusting) to all the differences .... but that's what I wanted!
    By the way, the Prius holds a longer surfboard inside than did the SUV.
