So yesterday I spotted one at our local dealership, so I told my mom we have to take a look. As soon as we were getting ready to leave, a salesman FINALLY came out to help us...so we asked him if we could get inside, and he said sure! As soon as we got inside, I said WOW!!! I absolutely love the interior of this car! I liked the last generations, but this ones is just amazing! I especially loved that the touch tracer screen just pops up whenever you are using it. I'm 6'3, and I still had plenty of headroom in the backseat.
It's not your imagination ... the Gen2 had 'Yaris like' front seats. This one's are much more like a Camry ... Big difference.
I saw my first new Prius yesterday at Manhattan Toyota. The leather seats look much better and have sides, like bucket seats. Didn't get in yet but I will soon. The seats are the only thing bad about my 2005 Prius. Surprising, given the Japanese attention to detail.
Just got back from a drive from San Diego to Merced. After about six hours, I stopped in a Sears in Bakersfield to get memory foam pillows (buy one, get one free) for my seat and lower back. Really makes a difference.
I saw one 2010 on the road maybe a month before official release and have never seen another one in my area since. I'm in the Raleigh/Cary, NC area. I see a lot of Gen II Prii around, but isn't it strange to not see a single Gen III on the road and the car has been out for several months?
I haven't been on the highway much lately til today, 2010's are a common sight around the SF bay area. I saw a paratransit '10 Pri also.
I remeber getting a WOW when I sat in my first car, a 99 VW. The fact is, any car will give you a surprising reaction when you sit on it first time... 1 weak later... boring...
I am an Interior Architect...I work for and Interior design firm...ergo I am very keen on innovation and design in automotive interiors. I was taken from the first moment...The continuity of line...the clever inter play of form...the textures...I only wish it was a little more expensively rendered...oh well at least I could afford it.
Had our Prius III since June. I didn't find our Prius 2004 boring and I still don't find the 2010 boring. Most other cars I do find boring.
I have to agree with you silverfrog, I've had my 2010 Prius II since late July and I'm still thrilled when I see it and step inside the vehicle. It's just a great experience all around. I don't see myself getting bored of the interior anytime soon.
