Not sure if that whole topic was lost, but I'm not finding it, and search appears to be on the fritz. Someone used the word "SUVhole," which I'd never seen before, and thought was rather cutting. That would make a nice personalized plate.
I actually thought about getting personalized plates before people told me that they are more often targeted for car break-ins and theft. Booo...
I don't know how true that is or not, but I've had personalized plates (SO GEEKY) for years and so have my wife (GEEK WYF). Neither of us have had a break in.
mine is "nscrlvr", which confuses all but the truly NASACR-savvy. had a state police officer stop me once to ask me what it said and then proceeded to talk to me about the previous week's race results........go figure!!
Most states monitor your request for a personal plate. I think that is a violation of my constitutional right to freedom of speech. For instance if I want a plate that says USUCK the state should not ban it. I saw a news clip on tv in which a womans plate was taken away from her because it began with Wth. She didn't even create it. What if your initials were Wth and your wifes were Wth too? Never the less I am going to test this some day and ask for a plate that says FUMOFO or USUCK. When they turn it down I'll start a law suite. JMO
We have 2 Prius (or do I say prii) an 05 and an 06. The red 05 says COOL MPG and the green 06 says UGO GRN2. No break ins yet. Red and green parked side by side... looks really festive at Christmas. -Paul R. Haller-
I'm thinking of getting ATOYOTA - a palindrome and it reads in the rear view mirror. Current plate is - A&DD for our initials.
You must live in the middle of nowhere if you can get ATOYOTA. Oh wait, it looks like you do. Out here in California, EVERY license plate that makes a drop of sense, is already taken.
NH lets us select vanity plates based on series; i.e., I can get the same numbers on two different series of plates. There are 10 different series. Different series do have some limits on the number of characters you can fit on the plate due to graphics, 7 is the maximum. For example, I am a Vet and could get "ABCD" on a vet plate and my wife could get "ABCD" on a Conservation plate. The state also has a web site that let us check on plate availability (no guarantee that it will still be available by the time you can get to request). If you want to see what you could get when you move to the middle of nowhere here's the link. And by the way ATOYOTA is available on the IPASS (passenger) series. Registration, DMV, NH
