Cruising at 74down I-40 near Mayflower, Ark., this morning, I passed a few cars, and noticed one of them happened to be a Ferrari.

What's the coolest car you ever passed?

(Of course, a few minutes later, the Ferrari effortlessly and almost instantaneously accellerated to about 85 and zipped right by.)

We've only had the car a couple of weeks but my wife passed some golf carts the other day!

I live next door to a rather affluent neighborhood and have seen many different exotic cars around town including: Ferrari, Lamborghini, Bentley, Maybach, Lotus and others... I guess I'm just jaded now, it doesn't even faze me.

I passed a Tesla Roadster. I didn't realize it until he passed me.

You let that Tesla pass you! What were you thinking?...LOL

I drove the Tesla about 2 weeks ago and it is very fast with smooth linear acceleration. Although the Prius 0 to 60 is no match to the Tesla, they have a LONG way to go to before I'd consider one. Fit and finish reminds me of the 1960’s auto’s.

By the way, no problem here passing Bentleys, Aston Martins, Porsches, Vettes and Bimmers with my Prius. It’s real easy when you’re in South FL heavy traffic! Of course the open road could be a bit different story.

Speaking of Telsa Roadster, how is it 2x more efficient than a Prius as claimed on its homepage?

This thread is ridiculous. Of course a Prius can pass a Ferrari, Aston, Porsche, etc. It's called 'youre driving faster than the other guy,' and my personal favorite, 'youre foot is pressed harder than the other guy.'

Try racing them 0-60 from a stoplight, however, and you'll hold for about 4 seconds until the other car takes it. I've actually tried it too, and the Prius just doesnt have enough horses.

It's immature to try to pass someone just to show off. Everybody knows the Prius has the weaker engine, so why try to prove something else? Our battle is efficiency. So instead we should take pride that we win the gold medal for that.

I can't resist. I've passed Porsche, Mercedes, Corvettes, BMW, Lexus. You name them, I passed them by at least 10 mph. I haven't seen any real exotics but they can eat my dust too.

They can't get on the diamond lane. :) :) It is always the BMWs, they get on the diamond lane and get pulled over by the cops. I have the weaker engine but who is going faster? It's brains. I like showing off my brains. You need to think. What's the point of driving a sports car if you can't get in the fast lane. You need a hybrid. Get it? Get it? Spend some money on your brains (not directed at the poster, just to the exotic car owners in general). It's a shame, they are too poor to buy a car for driving in traffic. Having one good car is not enough, you also need a commuter, a brain, or both.

Sorry for my immature rant. Now back to being a mild manner Prius driver. I am really regretful.

Of course this thread is ridiculous. I started it as a joke, and most of the posters have responded in kind.

Not an immature rant. Hey, man. I'm totally with you. I hate the luxury/exotic vehicle owners as much as you (at least thats what I think you were implying).

Although YOU made a great point, the OP did not explain his/her reason for enjoying the thrill of passing an exotic car.

So do you still hate them if they too own a Prius?

Almost forgot the original question. I think it also cool to drive past fuel tanker truck. Seems like a Zen thing.

I passed a big truck once on the highway. On my bicycle! And I wasn't even pedalling. I'd tell you how fast I was going, but the silly speedo pegs out at 99.5 kmh. It was a long, steep grade, but still.
