Date ordered: 11/29/03 Dealer ordered from: Dublin Toyota, Dublin, CA Time frame given for delivery: 6 to 8 weeks Color: Millennium Silver with Gray/Burgundy interior Option Package: #9 (BC) Your # on Dealer's Waiting List: Unknown until 1/5/04, see below Took delivery: 4/8/04 On 1/5/04 (37 days after order) I was told a Silver BC was allocated for me and would be arriving in Long Beach in a few days (Dealer had an arrival date on their system and a partial VIN). When I went to see my salesman, the date mysteriously vanished. A few days later he told me that the previous internet/fleet manager had taken a coustomer's deposit (which he wasn't supposed to do), then left the dealership. The customer was very upset, so the General Manager gave "my" Silver BC to that customer :cussing: . Over the next couple months I turned down 4 or 5 cars with other colors and other packages. 3/18/04 (110 days) Another Silver BC was allocated, gave a $1000 deposit. 3/23/04 (115 days) It came into the port. 3/29/04 (121 days) I received the keychain. 3/31/04 (123 days) My Prius was loaded on a car carrier for the East Bay. Got the full VIN, signed a purchase contract to make sure I'd get this one and so that dealer could count it as a March sale. 4/5/04 (128 days) Received Toyota's notice of increased MSRP, but mine came in before the increase. 4/6/04 (129 days) Received Dublin Toyota's "Thank you for your purchase" letter. But I hadn't taken delivery yet! 4/8/04 (131 days) Took delivery of my Silver BC with the following Port-added accessories: Preferred Accessory Package, Glass Breakage Sensor and Rear Bumper Applique. Yes, it was worth the wait. - Ed
Congratulations. What's the "Preferred Accessory Package" and how much did they charge you for it? And what did they charge for the CGS? Cheers, /Gordon
Z1 Preferred Accessory Package Cargo Net, First Aid Kit, Carpet Floor Mats & Cargo Mat $262.00 CGS? If you meant GBS (V2 Glass Breakage Sensor), it was $149.00. Also, Dublin Toyota charged an extra $129 over MSRP on the Prius because "prepping the Prius takes about 5 hours vs an hour or so for most other cars", or so the story goes. They wanted full MSRP ($1650) for the 7yr/100K/$0 Deductible extended warranty, and wouldn't budge even after I told them I could get it for $1285 at Walnut Creek Toyota. Needless to say I bought it from Walnut Creek. - Ed
That is why we call them Dublin Sleeze. I went to Tracy and got mine. I am even driving there for my oil change and will get my other work done there as well. Dublin is around the corner but I will just not go there. shona
