Price on Trim III base package - GOT IT TODAY !!

    I am getting the following:

    Sales price $23,538, Tax $1,906.58, Plates $421.20, Doc Fee $399.00, Title $4.00, Total $26,268.78.

It includes $750 for destination fees, $200 for floor mats and $67 for wheel locks.

Go to edmunds.com and you can find the invoice price for your car.
Here, this should get it for you.

Is that including the destination fee and the mat fee?

It included the floor mats but not the destination fee. However; the dealer didn't charge a destination fee and their markup was only $100 above dealer invoice making their final price $23,219.00 for a regular color and $23,395.00 for a premium color.

Sealed the deal today. 2010 Prius, Trim III Base, Blizzard Perl. Paid $26550 OTD. Tint and first oil change free. Not a GREAT deal, but a decent one.

I wanted to get the tax deduction and I didn't know about it until yesterday. So didn't have much time to get a package and color of my choice.

What next? To Dos and Not To Dos?

It isn't up to the dealer to charge or not charge the destination charge. All they can do is discount the selling price of the car before the destination charge to the point where the total price ends up the same as if you didn't pay the fee.
Do you mean the doc fee? That fee is a fee the dealer charges by choice.

When you open the drivers side door, you'll see at black sticker on the body frame with the date. Mine says 10/09.

I did check that. But I am not sure whether that can be considered as the 'Invoice' price. I usually deal with a gentleman from Power Toyota of Tempe and I've bought earlier from him. He is very transparent with his dealings. When I asked him about the Invoice price, he sent me these details:

    Vehicle Base Model ..........................:$ 21082.00
    50 State Emissions .........................
    Audio Package: .............................
JBL AM/FM/MP3 6-disc CD Changer with Eight .
    Speakers, Integrated Satellite Radio .......
    (Requires Subscription), Hands-free Phone ..
    Capability Via Bluetooth Wireless ..........
    Technology. ................................
Carpet Floor Mats & Cargo Mat .............. 127.00
    Wheel Locks (Alloy) ........................ 40.00
    --------- --------- ---------
    Total Accessories ...........................: $ 167.00
    Destination Charge ..........................: $ 750.00
    TDA .........................................: $ 527.00
    Gasoline ....................................: $ 9.84
    Dealer Holdback .............................: $ 468.00
    Whsl. Financial Reserve .....................: $ 234.00
    --------- ---------
    Total .......................................: $ 23237.84

So this is the Invoice price on this particular car according to him. He was asking for $300 over Invoice although I ended up buying locally from Tucson.

Looks like he is shooting pretty straight. Edmunds has the Invoice at $21784, but that includes the $750 destination charge. Your quote was $21082+750=21832 ($52 off).
Edmunds quotes Set Admin Fees at $702, your quote for Dealer holdback and Wholesale Fian Res add up to exactly $702. This 'profit/incentive from Toyota' is never negociable that I'm aware of.
Another source I found quoted dealer cost for mats at $127 so that's squares. I don't know about the wheel locks, but they look reasonable.
The TDA is 'Toyota Dealer Advertising Fee'. It may be legit figure...or may not be. No way to check it on the web that I'm aware of. Even if you add the TDA. 527 + 52(over Edmunds list invoice) + 300 over invoice he's asking, that's only $779 over invoice. Lot's of people on this board would like that deal.
All in all, a more transparent deal than I've ever been offered up front on any of the 5 cars I've purchased new.
If I were in the Phoenix area, looking to buy, I'd be wanting to get the salesmans contact info from you. There are certainly many, many more car salesmen that are less honest, a LOT less honest, when dealing with customers. Those always seem to be the ones I wind up dealing with.
    Hope that answers your questions...
Enjoy the new Blizzard Pearl III!!!
