Quick question on the current December lease offer for the Prius $249/mo for 36 months $2,589 Due at Signing I'm new at leasing. Am I correct in assuming I will need to add tax (9.75%) to the $249/mo, therefore, making my true monthly payment $273.28? Or does this offer mean my true payment is $249/mo? Thanks in advance.
InspireSiR, To let you know, lease advertisements never include the tax. Any payment you see will always be +tax. However, I strongly urge you to negotiate your best deal and not just "lay down" for the advertisement. Don't walk in and say "I'll take the $249/mo lease offer with ~$2,600 down." Make them work for your business. Sure, they advertise that price so that means of course they'll do that deal. What you want to do is get a BETTER deal. Tell them you want that payment, but you want to put less money down. Or tell them you want some accessories or some free oil changes or something. If worse comes to worst, they have to accept the nationally advertised deal... but try to get more out of em Best of luck. -Nick
